Can I re-index the pressure plate without removing the transmission?

Can I re-index the pressure plate without removing the transmission?
L98 with stock T5 WC. All stock stuff. I was thinking I could remove the starter and access the pressure plate bolts through the inspection cover. I THINK I can rotate the pressure plate to some different holes and reinstall the bolts. I know I would have to rotate the engine a bunch as I work the bolts but this seems a lot less work than removing the transmission. Anyone tried this?

No don't try that.

Very bad idea. Don't do that. Besides the pressure plate potentially getting bound up with bell-housing, the throw-out bearing/fork/pivot ball will likely severely limit and complicate the situation.
