no I wasn't in any kind of accident, I got the steering box fixed and tehn my buddy roger raised it and the first thing he said was "Holy ****, Kev, dont put another dime into this car"
I asked him why adn he pointed out a HUGE amount of rusted out and disintegrating pieces on the frame... From front to back, the WHOLE frame was rotted...
I don't feel like putting more money into it so it is time to get rid of it and time to buy a new 1...

Where in Canada?
I had a firebird, I know the 87's frame was starting to have its times. Way to much salt in the maritimes canada.

Was it still drivable? A rusted frame is way worse than a twisted frame. I doubt that it was beyond repair though, but since it was a thirdgen, you made the right decision since it would be an extraordinary amount to fix.

it was drivable, but the frame twists and breaks the steering box bolt... which is what happened, I took it for a last spin last night and I just let it go,, I did 140kph last night and then I put it to rest.. I couldn't get out of it, I just turned off the car and sat there, I couldn't bring myself to believe it was gone...
It was a great car to me, and I almost broke down into tears when I heard the news... Cause I know the car will never have another chance...
So today I am pulling the engine and putting it in my buddys boat... and I am gettting rid of it..

I am really sorry to hear about that. Well, at least it gives you the chance to find another car you really want. I know a lot more about cars than I did when I bought my first one at 16. If I bought another thirdgen, I would look for one near mint condition with no less than a 350 TPI.

I liked my 2.8 tho, I am a beginning drive so I don't want TOO much power, but just enough to wow people...
But yeah I am going to keep my eye open for a nice car now, any recommendations?

If your in hamilton, I am sure you can find another V-6 with a good body and the engine shot. Do a swap, drive a beater for a few months, and put another 2.8 Camaro back on the road for april.

LOL what frame? Unibody. If the cars in good shape just replace the metal, air chisel the rusted parts out and weld in some new sheet metal. Unless your doing a Fred Flintstone the floor board is still good.

Did you notice that thread about the free Camaro in Mass. w/o title?
Maybe some rust, tho, too.
Serious, COME TO LA & BUY ONE HERE & DRIVE IT HOME!
Or have it shipped up there.
We got jillions of them to give away at rock bottom prices!
I paid $300 for my rust free barely running engined car.

I have fixed severe problems such as that and had many more years of enjoyment from cars that others had written off for junk.

I'm not that old too, only 20! But like I said, I works a lot... I have only 1 or 2 days off a week... Maybe I'm gonna get ride of my 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Z22-R and works on my bird... I don't know yet... Everytime I don't works, I take the bird for a ride... I don't like my Cavalier Z22-R even if it's new and with a manual transmission, nobody notice you with these... But with my bird, every girls look at me!
