Sounds like a sensor glitch to me...any Check Engine lights? Is this your only problem or are there others, such as rough idling, funny smells, bad acceleration, blah blah blah etc etc etc..

Does the idle hunt around before it dies also? Mine's done it a few times in the past few days...couldnt tell you the cause..my best guess was a slightly leaking vacuum line that I had removed & unsuccessfully plugged at the manifold...

I am sure you do have some cold start problems as your 3.5 Interpid motor is blown.

Anyway, It is probably a vaccum leak, or maybe in need of a tune-up. But most likely something little. If the car dies, then starts right back up, maybe the intial prime from the Fuel pump isn't quite enough.

But like you said it starts right up the second time. So I am sure it is something very small. Unless the problem starts to get a lot worse, I would not spend too much on tryin to find the solution.

Can't sweat the small stuff! I've thrown all this money into my car trying to figure out the cause of my rough idle..and today my starter died. I STILL have a rough idle.. Point being..save the money away from the little things, cause sooner or later a big thing is gonna come along and you'll wish you had the money you wasted on the little things!

Do a once-over all your vacuum lines..look for brittle, cracked, or split areas on them, particularly around the area where they slide on, and where the come near heat sources

Im having cold start problems too, my service engine light is on, i read the ECM trouble code out and it came up as a short in the fuel pump or not enough voltage or somthing, then when it does start up it sounds runs greatm but smells rich when you stand behind it, kind of like the smell down at the drag strip with all the non street cars. anyone know what my problem is, my fuel pump is all good we replaced all the stuff for it. thanks guys

Does it run rich only cold? Or warm too? If you're running rich, and your O2 sensor works properly, it should trip an SES light for rich exhaust as well... Just a small tangent there..

Damn....well if your O2 sensor used to work, all that exhaust probably burned it out. What kinda engine and what year is your car?

Tell us how you really feel.

First, there was no 2.8L offered in a '92 thirdgen.

Second, NOBODY here believes that you have a twin turbo without showing proof. Guys come in here all the time claiming turbo this, and supercharger that but nobody does it. Show proof or lose all credibility. Why would you spend all the money to twin turbo a "2.8" only to put an LS1 in it? Money sure can buy you alot of stuff but brains definitely isn't on the list.

Third, How the hell do you expect us to diagnose a "twin turbo 2.8"???
