Where is located fuel pump in my Firebird V6 3.1? its from 1990.
Hello guys,
Last days, I bought a Firebird from 1990, with a problem. Engine don't start, in the garage said there is a bad fuel pump, but now the car is in my house and I'm trying to repair it.
The car was stopped for one year, and I'm trying to remove the old fuel before try to start the engine.
When remove it, I'will try to start the engine, and see the problem.
I was looking for the fuel pump, but I'dont found it. Where is located? can be a fuse or a bad relay the cause?.
Thanks very much!, and sorry for the bad language.

It's at the top of the fuel tank, which is located between the hump in the rear and the rear axle. The flat part of the hump where the hatch area is... it's about six inches behind the rear seats, in the middle. There's plenty of threads you can find about creating an access panel, as well as best methods to drop the rear and the tank.

Thanks very much!
I found this after various hours of searching on the forum:
relay location:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/v6/3...ght=relay+fuel
making a access panel for the fuel pump:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tpi/...fuel+door+trap
today I'll try to test the relay and make a access panel
thanks for your reply!

Thanks!
I think its very dangerous cut it.
I think I need to remove all fuel into the tank, and leave the tank without fuel for one week, for the gas into the tank for more security
I was trying to start the engine, its crank very good but don't start.
When put the key into ignition position, the fuel pump don't make the typical "BZZZZ" sounds.
The relay sounds "tik"... when put ignition on, and sounds again "tik" when quit ignition position.
Must be a bad fuel pump, or not?
Thanks very much
PS: Is the same fuel pump for all firebird v6 3.1?

If your pump relay gives a "click" and your pump primes (the bzzzz noise) then your pump is probably not bad. You could have bad injectors, bad plug wires, bad plugs, bad spark control module.
