New to Camaros..need help!!!
I am new to camaros,I picked up a 92 3.1 v6 4 months ago..it idles ok and runs good thru the city but on the open highway(55-60mph), it will slightly jerk as i ease off the gas to stay at speed(no cruise control). Can the TPS maybe have a dead spot on it to cause this?(not throwing any codes)..it will continue to skip as i hold the pedal steady, cleaned EGR,plugs and wires are new(AC DELCO),and ignition module isnt gettin hot enough to make a difference, and no obvious signs of vac leaks,...thanx for any help guys!!!

I don't know anything about trying to clean one. Have you read the article on checking the voltage on the tps? if not, just do a search for tps voltage or something like that, should be easy to find. then you can (with the engine off) slowly open the throttle and check for dead spots (as well as general calibration).

those numbers sound right. I don't remember exactly though. however, it is 4vdc, not ohms.

Out of curiosity, how is the vac at idle? Your engine is map based I believe so vac is important (hehe, just unplug the vac line to the map sensor and enjoy the cloud at idle).
Other thing could be a dirty injector, leaking injector, injector failing intermittently. Only other thing I can think of right off if not the injectors is fuel pressure.
.55vdc to over 4.0vdc at wot is correct.
Eh, sorry for the ramblings.

Re: New to Camaros..need help!!!
i think i unplugged the MAP and kept gettin the SES light so i plugged it back up..although the injectors ohmed good i dont know the mechanical condition(o-rings are good,,might be leakin). It has a new fuel filter and I put SEAFOAM in the tank for the injectors/valves.The idle is ok after warm up(a little miss) but not serious just annoying, but all in all I love it better than my 1991 Eclipse.

Ok..I put a boneyard TPS on and still the same thing,,,I have a 180 degree tstat in it,could the ecm be dumping more fuel than needed causing it to flood(my temp needle never goes beyond the second mark on the open road, the mark after cold btw) thinkin the engine is still warming up?

Re: New to Camaros..need help!!!
even if its not up to temp (still in open loop mode) it shouldn't be running that rich. do you know for sure that its shifting into OD....not hanging in 3rd gear (drive)?

I think i felt it changing gears at 53 mph so i know my tcc is kicking in..im leaning to a bad injector or pick up coil, whatever it is it feels electrical in nature, and btw...yellin at the car didnt work either,,i think i made it mad...oh the last time i checked the fuel pressure it was about 42 before cranking and 39 while running

Haha im sry but that made me laugh. I remember when my computer was going bad it kept stalling and i got pissed and talked to the car and said i was going to beat the **** out of it if it didnt knock it off. Funny thing is the car ran like a bat out of hell after that(until the computer died and it didnt run at all). To bad it didnt work for you...
