has anybody had problems getting the throwout bearing on to the fork and then on to the trans it seems like I got it on there right while the trans is off but when i get the trans installed the bearing is like hung up it wont move so It blew my slave cylinder all to hell. then got it to move and was working on my bleeding my second 2nd slave then the throwout bearing hung again and blew my slave cylinder again, any ideas ?

Work it by hand towards the transmission before you put the slave in... Should align it with the input bearing retainer snout that way. If not, you need to pull the trans and make sure that there is no damage to the inner surface of the bearing and the outer surface of the input bearing retainer on the trans. Also bleed the slave cylinder in the same manner (pushing the piston into the cylinder).

Also make sure that the trans is in all the way... Could be that the slave cylinder is pushing the TO off of the trans snout and it's getting hung up on the lip at the end of the snout.

You may also want to verify you installed the throw out bearing correctly. The spring clip on the end of the fork goes underneath the lip of the bearing, not over it. If you have it on wrong it could cause the slave cylinder to overextend and blow.

what i found was that I can move the fork by hand and it bottoms out ( the fork) about an inch before it touches the pressure plate at all. now my next question and this is going to sound stupid but itwas free is there a difference between an s10 pressure plate and a firebird pressure plate?

If the pressure plate was used, just go for a new clutch kit. It may be the wrong one, or it may be damaged. Either way, it's better to be sure you have new proper parts than guessing on used ones.
