RPO stuff

Here is the deal, I just used the RPO decoder thing. Some very interesting things came up and I have some questions.
1. It says: Window, tinted, all shaded, w/s. What does w/s stand for and how dark are the windows supposed to be?
2. spoiler, rr end pnl. I have an idea what the abbreveations are, but I want to make sure.
3. speedodometer adapter (delete). what did that do?
4. speedodometer key (delete) again, what did that do?
5.axle rear, 3.42 ratio. Is that possible? It feels like I have the 2.(whatever) ratio.
6. License plate, frt mounting pkg. I think I have a new nose because I had to put a bracket on.
Now comes the weird part. I know that car was repainted, but I had no idea that that isn't the original color. So...
7. Paint, two-tone deluxe. What makes it deluxe?
8. primary color, exterior, bright silver met
9. Secondary color, exterior, hawaiian orchid
10. stripe, accent
11. stripe color, accent, two tone, silver/red.
I need help imagining how my car would look. Anybody have any pics exactly like it? I'm in a crisis!!! My car has mis-led me!!! nooooooo!!!!!!

Car: '99 Trans Am, '86 Camaro
Engine: LS1, Scrap
Transmission: T56, T5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 Stock ZT, 3.42 Open
All of our thirdgen v6's came with a 3.42 open rear end.. Why does it feel like a 2.73? Because it's a v6 =P ... You're not driving a torque building monster.. and you think you've got it bad? My tires make mine effectivly a 3.22.

Heh... I just did the whole RPO thing for s***s and grins, and I discovered something... one armed blind five year olds could probably match paint better than Maaco... It lists my color as Black Saphire Poly, with a Gunmetal Grey accent stripe. Well, as I've mentioned before, my dad's a painter, so I went to out to the garage and got his books (the ones with the purty colors )... looked up '87 GM colors, Looked up WA- L9243 U8743 and for some reason, my car's supposed to be black, not blue! They're a bunch of crazies!

It all depends on which Maaco you go to. I'm friend with the owners of the local Maaco's son an his parents hooked me up. On the matching paint, I can't see how Arctic White would be hard to match anyways.

BigRed, my codes were in my console.

TechSmurf, by the way, I like the name, I think you got it right with the v-6 thing. I can't even spin my tire going in a straight line. I have to make a hard right turn and floor it from a stop to get the wheel in the air.

87Camaro and anyone else, is Black Saphire Poly the correct color black for our years? And, I am thinking about getting my car repainted and the rust fixed on it. Let's take a poll: should I put it back to its original colors or get it repainted black? Does a bright silver metallic and hawaiian orchid firebird even look good? I'm kinda partial to black. And, um, what about the non-paint stuff?

Well, there were a lot of variations of black used every year. When it comes to car paint, just because it looks black, it doesn't mean it's black. An example is my dad's Cougar. It looks blue-gray (more blue than gray), but it's called Opal (even though it looks nothing like the jewel).

And about the tire spinning thing.... I've got BFG 225/60's on my car and I've left a 60ft. one-wheel wonder mark with it... powerbraking's fun .... Just wish I had a pic....

techsmurf, my car has 3.23's, not 3.42's. i think the Tech Data page lists all gearing options for all models.

I wish I could powerbrake. I have left a 90ft black mark on my friends driveway. He had it recently resealed which made it a little slick. By the way, it was dry with no rain!! I had to get out the tape measure for that one.
