Starter again? Not sure, HELP!!!
MY friend borrowed it, said it worked fine, and then the next day, I went to start it, and I get this clicking ratcheting sound, but no turnover. Is it the starter again? Thanks ahead.

i got the same thing as u. Need Help!!
Well my car has been being kind of a pain for the last 2-3 weeks when it comes to starting. But know its doesnt start at all until after about 15 mins of trying.at first when i turned the key something would make a spinning sound and nothing would happen. Then i would do it again and it would start right up. Well over the last 2 weeks its decided it wont start until i do this about 20 times. But now instead of doing nothing, the engine will seem like its about to start and then die out again. Once i get it running it runs fine.
I have basically all stock ignition. New plugs and wires.
We recently had bout 2 feet of snow not to long ago. perhaps that screwed up the starter or something?.
I dont know much about the ignition system so im sorry if i sound kind of dumb.
Ive heard maybe its the selinoid or maybe the whole starter in general. if this is the case what would be a good upgrade to replace these with. Or watever the part maybe.
Its a 91 3.1 RS
Thanks

Hehe Reno...sounds like me 6 months ago. Maybe I can help....
When you jumped it, it could be that the power from 2 batteries was enough to click your solenoid over. I noticed that when my car wouldn't start, if I would jump it, it was perfect....mind you I had a brand new AC Delco battery, with the eye nice and green
I think you got a dead starter...or maybe a bad connection somewhere. The first time I had starter problems, my starter connections were all loose and stuff. Good luck man...believe me, I know how it is to go out and have NOTHING happen.
