A Problem...

A friend of mines has an '89 RS Camaro (mpfi V6). He was having stalling problems and it turned out 2 be his fuel pump. Everything was fine until a few months later when the problem came back. It turned out that the pump was defective. It was changed again and once more the stalling problem came back. The mechanics at the shop where all the work has been done said it's in the wiring and that basically when he fixes 1 wire problem another arrises. Personally I don't think the mechanics know exactly what they r doing, so I stopped by here 2 ask 4 ur input. I don't know anything about the V6s (I got a 5.7L TPI). Thanks 4 any help u can offer.

Car: '99 Trans Am, '86 Camaro
Engine: LS1, Scrap
Transmission: T56, T5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 Stock ZT, 3.42 Open
Your tpi and the 6 are about the exact same on the fuel/intake side.. anything that you think would be the cause if it were your car would be a possible cause for his. As far as wiring, I've got numerous diagrams that will show you there's only 2 basic differences.. wire colors and a pair of injector leads.

------------------
'86 Camaro SC, black /w silver racing stripes
2.8l MPFI/700r4 /w special 2nd gear delete option
In search of new v8 engine & transmission, now contemplating t5 swap to get me out of this mess.
MSD coil, Accel 8mm wires, SplitFire plugs, Gabriel hijackers, possible performance chip I don't know about.. gotta crack open the ECM and check sometime

Thanks TechSmurf, after I posted this Q I remembered reading in my Hanes manual about some problems with the V6s. Not sure if it pertains 2 his problem, I'll have 2 look it up. Thanks again.

Sounds like the mechanics don't want to work on his car anymore!
