Oil Pressure Gauge from a V8

So a while ago I installed the 60 psi gauge into my firebird (instead of the Low to High gauge) without installing the correct sensor. It basically was the standard V6 gauge with a V8 gauge background. Now I want to make the gauge operational by installing the correct sensor. A ton of research resulted in this sensor:
10222130
So my question is this: Will this work? Am I missing anything?

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge from a V8

How's about the fact that this is a B A D idea? The oil pressure gauges and tachs were made different for a reason. That gauge you have there will probably be well pegged until the engine warms up if it works at all. The 60* V6 oil pump is regulated via a spring to 70 PSI. If you install a 60 PSI gauge, well...

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge from a V8

Yes, use the matching sender to the gauge, it will work fine.

The actual oiling system has no effect on the oil pressure gauge, or functionality. The sender is what changes in signal for the gauge to respond to. The sender is just a pressure sensitive device that only relates the pressure of the fluid being forced into a small oriface of the sender.
