wiring question.
Some jerk off tried to steal my G/F's dad's '88 Cadilac from infront of our house. They got it started but couldn't get the stearing wheel unlocked (thier fault, they broke the part they needed to unlock the stearing collum ). Well now I have two mission to do at the same time.
1.) rebuild the stearing collum on the Cadi and install a kill switch. Turning out to be eaiser then I thought it would be.
2.) put a alarm in my RS. I'm having problems figuring out some of the wiring.
I need to know what collor and the location of the negative tiger wire on the horn relay.I also need to find a +12 vlots wire from my ignition that supplys +12 in the "on" and "start" position, but the book says no to install it on the acc wire. My Chilton's and Haynes books don't give enough info to be usefull.
In the mean time I yank my coil wire every night (PITA).
Thanks in advance!!!!

There are some empty plugs in the bottom of your fuse panel. Use a test light to find out which has power when your key is in run.

And yah, Mike's right. If ya look at your fuse box from the front, look at the writing. You'll see "IGN" with two arrows pointing to two single slots that could no way take a fuse. Pull the fuse box down. The same slots extend through the BACK of the fusebox. This is how GM plugged in a factory option (as in, power locks). Use a "male quick-disconnect crimp connector" to plug into these slots.
If you need any more info, let me know; I put a Viper alarm into my car back in '94. (Yep, I put the Voice Box in, and even bought an interior field disturbance sensor- that was hot $hit back then!)

I was thinking about putting a kill switch in teh RS. I figured I would mount it under the ash tray. Easy to get to and well hidden, but I bought a really good alarm off a friend who runs a business installing alarms and entertainment crap in cars back in Aug, but I was to lazy tt put it in. Now that I prety good scare It's giving me the motivation to install it. I would just have him install it, but he works and lives about 100 miles a way.
Tom,
Yeah I need the negative tiger to sound the horn. I didn't get the siren. All though I could pick one up and have it go off with the horn for added noise.
What is a interior field disturbance sensor? It sounds pretty cool.

That's the sensor that triggers when you wave your hand inside the car... I bought it so nobody would go after my radio if I had the windows open. I have one gripe with it... every few months, if the car sits for a while, the "field" somehow escapes out of the windows, and it'll set the alarm off if someone walks by the car.
