it will involve some expensive spacers... seek out tpiroc and omnipotentgoku... they have c5 wheels on their thirdgens and can guide you towards what you need to do to bolt 'em up. hope this helps

I got mine from skulte. 2"s all around. But the car is being sold as are the spacers and the rims. They did handle well though...

Does anyone have close-up pics of those wheels installed with spacers so I can see how the brakes look behind the spokes? I'm thinking about Z28 SS ten spokes so I can do the Z06 front brake conversion, but am curious about how it will look with the spokes being so far away from the rotor, and caliper.

thanks all,
Mike

brakes

behind spacers look like hell.....or in better terms funny as hell. if you aren't direct level with them hardly anyone will notice them. i recieved more questions about why i put fwd offset rims on the car then the brakes behind it.

this is the only way you'll see them.......looks wise adapters get a -10.

That's what I heard. I'll just have to find some aftermarket 17" wheels that I like, with the proper offsets.

Check out SLP. They have a 17x9.5" wheel that bolts directly to 3rd gen without spacers. They're at www.slponine.com.

I was under the impression that they only offered thier ZR1 wheel with 3rd gen offset in 17x8" wheels.

The rims I've seen, both in magazines and on their website, are not zr1 wheels or the like. They are 5 spoke with a cover over the lugs and are 9.5" wide. They're something like $1099 a set. IMHO a very nice looking wheel.

I looked through their whole site and found no such animal. The only wheels that had the 3rd gen offset were the 17x8" ZR1/SS wheels.

Post the direct link to the wheels so we can all take a look. I know alot of us are waiting for the ZR1/SS wheels to come out in a 17x9" or 17x9.5" with 3rd gen offset, but if these wheels look good, I might spring for them instead.

there is a prime example....all spacer and no brakes. the all black scheme is enough to look like a parts car but with a nice set of brakes behind those wheels it would have a race look about it. it's too bad they don't make wheels that would direct bolt in those styles since they seem to be so popular. the adapters just make them look so out of place....

I have seen these in ads in magazines, and I like you went to their website last night and could not find them either. I'm looking at a Jan 2003 Hot Rod and it shows them with a "NEW" banner beside them. Apparently, not alot of interest in them so they must have dropped them by now. Oh well...

that pic is crazy old...
the car has been down for 2 years for 'repairs'.
new brakes are on the list...no worries.

yup.
i got a 4th gen rear, so i'll be doing away with the rear spacers soon. I can probably go a half inch smaller spacer up front, but i'll have to find someone with the skuelty 1.5" front spacers so i can swap them on real quick. not going to order a pair if it wont work.

Since you already have 2" spacers all the way around, why don't you take 2 of them to the machine shop and have them milled to 1 1/2" inches. That way if the 1 1/2's didn't work out then you'd still have another set of 2 inchers to fall back on.

those $1099 slp wheels in 17x9 are the Firehawk Ronal knock-offs guys. Just thought I throw that in
-as for wheels, I just ordered my Boyd Coddington "Bichin" Blaster 5's yesterday...60 days before I see them though because they have to machine them out...

later, justin...

ronal made the original firehawk wheels and then decided to remake them there are no knockoffs for those wheels unlike the vette style wheels everyone is using.
