tires - Hankook v. Visa v. Kumho
Okay folks, did a search and narrowed the choice down to 3. This board seems to be familiar with the Ecsta 711, but couldn't find much on the other 2. Any thoughts on the 3 tires below? I need a set of tires that will last a year and perform well in the rain...they have to be cheap, hence the selection below. I'll upgrade in a year or sooner if the financial situation improves.
Kuhmo Ecsta 711
Visa VK-50G ZR
Hankook Ventus HRII H405
A poll and links to the tires has been posted in Suspension/Chassis/Brakes, but I thought I would post here too.
Thanks everyone!

One whole vote!
I wish I could tell you I've used Visas on my Formula, but I can't. I've used them on my small car though--twice, actually. They make good performance tires for small cars, and I liked them very much. They were nicely priced too. I only spunout on Angeles Forest Highway ONE TIME with them, lol! It was a 360 in an S-curve, the car was pointing straight ahead when I came out of the spin, so I just kept right on going, lol. Black ice is real!
At least, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
The Kumhos(I think I spell that differently each time I type it) seem popular, and they came highly recommended to me when I got the last set of tires for my Formula. But since Kumhos originally came on my small car, and I didn't like them at all, I chose not to go with them for my Formula. But I've heard from everyone who's got them that they're very good. And they definitely have a good price tag.
Hankooks have always seemed hard to find. I don't know anyone who's used them, but I remember when Hankooks hit the mainstream, the magazines gave them great reviews. Pep Boys sells that Hankook tire, but it's probably more $$$ than you can get it for online.
I know I really didn't help you, but I'm sure there're people here who can. Have fun shopping.

Kuhmo is like the best friend of SCCA racers everywhere. Those three manufacturers all make cheap tires and you might even consider Falken as well when talking of those makes. I may be putting Kuhmo's on my B4C.

Thanks guys, I'll add falken to the list, but not the poll. Wouldn't want to overwhelm all the poll takers. Hoo-hah! Guess I'll put a link on the Appearance board to see if I can get any additional feedback. I'm leaning towards Kumho though....

Bought Kumos last year. They are such a nice tire. I couldn't belive how quiet and smooth they felt when i took the car for a highway ride after the install.
They look great are reasonable and wear nice and even. I spend like 6 months deciding which tires to get and i am glad i choose them..
PS. I haven't tried the other tires so i can't tell difference.

the price is definately right i got mine for $64 a piece mounted and balanced and the even put in new valve stems... this place around here treated me good and i will always go there when i need them again.

I'm running the Kumho's on my Dakota R/T.
I've done numerous "long" burnouts, and I light them up all the time, yet they wear fantastic. I'm definately getting the same set when I replace the tires on the Iroc.
