Need help...18x10 with 6.25" backspacing wont fit

Just tried to test fit my Rushforth Rated-X's and they will not fit. What the hell did I do wrong? 18x10 with 6.25" backspacing. I measured the Moser 9" and from inside of rotor to inside of rotor was 58" is that incorrect? I really don't want to have to send them back to have the backspacing adjusted. I stuck the 18x9 with 5.25" backspacing (fronts) on and they fit great. What the hell?

Rotor to rotor distance has zero to do with wheel bs. You need to measure from the FACE (where the wheel actually sits) to the inner wheelwell, to see how much bs you need. I have 7" bs on a 11" wheel on a stock 9-bolt rear axle, but I had to complertly cut out the bumpstop & the forward bottom corner plus a bit of BFH all over the inner wheelwell.

63" total. the rotor is 1" thick and the hub is 1.5" (per side)

And did you test fit on the Drivers side or Passenger side? Do you have an ADJUSTABLE Panhard Bar (not just a stock or fixed length aftermarket PHB)? With the stock PHB, the rear axle is common to be offset to the Drivers side.

Tested both sides at once. Yes for adjustable panhard. There was more room on the drivers side but I have not adjusted the rear any.

Clearly you must have measured wrong.

Where are they not fitting? What is preventing them from fitting?

Re: Need help...18x10 with 6.25" backspacing wont fit

Are the wheels too far in or too far out? To what spec was the moser rear built to, 3rd or 4th gen width? Fwiw the moser 9 I bought was 1/2" narrower on each side than my stock ten bolt, might be the same for you. Long studs and slip on spacers fixed my problem.

To fit that BS, your going to have to do a little light hammering on the lower front of the wheel well. I'm using 6.5" of bs with a 18x10.5 and needed a little hammering in that spot to get them on.

That BS is for a stock third gen rear. Anything else, unless exactly the same size, would throw off the measurements inward or outward...

Re: Need help...18x10 with 6.25" backspacing wont fit

The wheels themselves are fine. It's the 305 rubber that is causing the issue. I'm rubbing in the inner fender well as well as the bump stop area. I'm having the shop cut as much out as they can and weld in some sheet metal. The rear measured 63" total. I believe my issue is the 305's???? I'm going to make it work one way or another.

Thanks for all the responses. I'll keep you posted and get some pictures up ASAP.

You need one of these.

Not not that you perve, a BFH

Is the outside even with the lip or is it tucked to far in? Is the car lowered?

Heat gun helps the paint from cracking. There are lots of folks that rent fender rollers too.. check CL or there is a guy on LS1tech that will mail it to you.

Well....after some cutting and the use of a BFH, they fit.

I'd like to see what you had to cut and some pics of how it look with the car on the ground. After all that work I hope they fit nice. It's a good looking wheel.
