Want to try out ET Streets
Hello all,
I have a question about drag tires. I've always run either 28or26X10.5 slicks at the track ET DRAGS. I'd like to run some local street type events / cruise nights so I'm looking for some street rubber that will still bite hard at the track.
A little about the car.
V6 turbo, spool, 3.45 gear TH350 trans, footbrake, LCARBS, tubular rear control arms, panhard bar and not much else for launch aids. The car actually launches pretty soft..
On low boost the 60' times are 1.75-1.76 (leading to a 11.70 1/4) and on high boost typically 1.68-1.69 (leading to a mid 10.) <-- this is dead hooking, my car NEVER loses traction, ever with slicks.
Now, I'd love to rock the stock Camaro wheels 15X7 with maybe some 255/60-15 ET STREET Radials for the sleeper effect... How much worse would these hook then slicks? I know a lot of guys going REAL fast on these tires, but, not sure about on third gens....
Then there is the whole cheater slick, I KNOW my car would hook on any of the DOT bias ply slicks, Quicktime PRO DOT or the MT ET Street bias, so that's not really what I'm asking. Just wondering if I would be able to get away with the radials, in a 255.
Any advice ?

They hook real good like a slick when newer. Street use and a whole season will dry them out and they get hard. For your power u shouldnt have a problem hooking them.
They are suppose to be discontinued, replaced by a radial bracket tire that suppose to work well. I kinda want to try them

With those rims and tires he pulled off 1.65 60' followed by a 1.66 60'...
Edit: Oh, and, these are now off of my C4 and are now on my turbo GTA, 17" 315 MT's, and last time I had the car out on the street with them, from a dead stop, she hooked so hard that I cracked the flexplate. So yes, they hook...

Re: Want to try out ET Streets
I took my Camaro to the track one time with drag radials. I would have went 2 times but one Friday was rained out and it wasnt too fun driving home on them.... MT 295/65/15
They hooked fine but I was launching slow 60 foots. 1.70-1.75 60 foot times. 11.9x passes. I didn't have any issues with them. I usually use 28x10 slicks but I used these DRs for a street class that I was in, it required DOT tires.
I liked the Drs a lot but I didn't get a chance to really push those things. The burn out was pretty crutial. But those slicks are meant to handle a lot of power and I'm sure if you got them you wouldn't have a issue running them even when up the boost and run 10s.

I was running 11.50s at 117 with 1.58 60s last weekend. That was on a cooler night track temp was down.
