I was looking at this kit in Summit for $230. It has all new bands, seals and I think clutches. I am planning on have my tranny rebuilt very soon, because I have lost 2nd gear and have never had OD, this kit also comes w/ a TC lockout switch for 1st,2nd, and 3rd, but I thought the TC was only supposed to lockout in OD. This kit also allows you to shift manually, so I take it this is a shift kit, but does it have all the parts for a rebuild, I know nothing about trannies.

Dude, just get Trans Go stuff only. Also do a search on the Transmission board.

Yeah, I did some research, seems that B&M transmission products isn't the way to go. I was looking at the master rebuild kit from TCI, and a shift kit is like $30 extra, I'll probably go with that.

Go with the Hughes rebuild kit or Pro Built Automatics kit.

I don't know about the TCI kit, I'm using one now to rebuild a 700R4. Half of the seals are wrong, I had to rummage through a GM rebuild kit to get the correct seals.

That's my only problem with the TCI kit, but come on, I didn't buy a complete kit so I would have to go through another kit to get the correct seals. Just my opinion.

Skip the B&M stuff. Probably the easiest way to go is to contact Pro Built. He deals in the TransGo products (the only way to go) and he supplies the extras that you'll need, from what I understand. I haven't dealt with him but he and I answer questions on the tranny board and he seems to know his stuff.

Thanks, I found a good deal and got my transmission rebuilt w/ TC and manual valve body shift kit. I am waiting to get a shifter before I get on it, I would hate to slide into N. I was looking at the B&M Quicksilver, but not sure how much I would have to hack the console.

I put in the B&M TransPak. I am fully satisfied with it. Why does everyone seem to knock B&M? I got a little slipping from 2nd-3rd, but I think it's the tranny going. I get a nice firm shift from 1st-2nd though. Have some of you had bad experiances with the B&M? Just asking, so try not to lay into me too hard, OK?
