Need advice...

Ok, I'm building up a 400 small block for my 88 bird. I had a pretty good setup in mind and was gonna go to Summit soon and start putting it together. I was looking at around 400Hp and 450+Torque. Well, my brother let out today that he is building a 400 too for the fourth gen bird he's buying. He has all his parts already and ran the setup on desktop dyno, He says he has 600+Hp and 700+Torque. He refused to tell me what he's putting in. With sibling rivalry what it is, I have to have the faster car. I need some ideas on a setup that will rival his. This excludes nitrous or any forced induction. Any ideas will help at this point. Thank you.

I'm also in the process of building up a 400 and all i can say is that you'll never make 600 hp without some kind of power adder and still have a somewhat streetable engine! My engines got a comp xr274r solid roller cam, Brodix cnc'd track 1's, a holley Stealth ram intake, and 10.2:1 compression. It should make around 450 hp and 500 lb of torque. I can almost guarentee you that your bro is using some kind of forced induction! But if you want to use a blower I saw a 406 with 8.5:1 compression, a huge solid roller cam, afr 220 heads, a mini ram intake, and an intercooled ati supercharger with 12 lbs of boos that made 750 hp and 700 lbs of torque! that should be able to pull!

I think you might be right. He does bull**** alot sometimes. Either he padded his numbers or has some kind of adder. I need to finalize my setup and start gertting my parts together. Do you have any overheating probs?
