ZZ430 duplicate

I'm about 2 duplicate GMs ZZ430 crate motor. But instead of the HOT cam I was thinking of using LPE's 219/.560 cam or Crower's #00402LM cam. Do u think the switch would be worth it or should I stick with the HOT cam? I'd like 2 up the HP a bit.

Id go with a CC305 or CC306. These cams have been proven and make some good HP up to 6500RPM. That LPE cam is a single pattern cam and I dont know if you would want that or not with those heads. What are the specs on the Crower cam??

------------------
L98, 3.27 9-bolt, Hooker shorty headers, custom 2.5inch Y-pipe, no cat, 3inch 2chamber flowmaster, JET AFPR, Ported MAF, Best ET: 13.86 @100mph. 1.99 60'
17 inch ROH "ZS" wheels. 17x8.5(front) and 17x9.5 (rear). Firestone Firehawk SZ50s. 245/45/zr17s and 275/40/zr17s. T56

On the way... Radar Blue 89 Formula, T56, Ram Jet 430, Ram Air, 17inch ROHs.

The specs on the Crower cam are 220/228 @.050 .531/.553 w/1.6rr's 114 lsa. I was also looking at LPE's 236244 cam (236/244 .590/.590 112). It's a solid roller though. I'll look in2 the CC305/306. I've seen those mentioned on CamaroZ28.com. Thanks.

I vote for the Hot Cam and the Fast Burn heads. Good combo and the cam is only $160 or so... Those other cams seem reasonable, though, one being a bit bigger and the other a lot bigger. Just depends on what the majority of run-time will see, I guess. daily driver = Hot CAM, IMO... trailer runner/racer, use one of the others is ok...

The car is gonna basically be a weekend warrior/cruise night car that's on the road race side of things. Though I would very much like 2 hit mid 12s or less in the 1/4.
I've contacted CompCams and they suggested a cam that's 230/236 @.050 .544/.555. They also said the CC306 would work very well as long as I have a converter 4 it. I don't mind the "HOT" cam 2 much because it's be proven at 430HP with the ZZ430 combo, I just have a thing 4 high lift like LPE's 236244 cam (.590).

Well, I like the larger cams as well. I have a Comp Cams hydraulic roller with ported Dart Iron Eagle Heads and a Victor Jr., and I am putting out a little over 400hp to the wheels. My cam is 230/244, .510/.540 lift, 112 centerline. I have 1.6 rockers which makes it .544/.576 lift. I know Comp makes a similar grind that is 236/244, .520/.540 lift with a 110 centerline that I bet would scream. In fact, that is the cam that is making almost 500hp on the AFR website using their heads on a 9.6:1 motor. I think this cam, or a similar one will give you another 10-20 hp over the hot cam.
