Bolt-ons are just as strong as weld-ons, but over time, the bolt holes may become rounded out causing a "loose" condition. Weld-ons will stay welded on forever under reasonable conditions.

You would be better served going with a good set of weld in subframe connectors. Their benefits go beyond the structural rigidity they add. If you go with a set like the Global West or the Kenny Brown, which I have, you can use them to actually jack your car up from the side. It's a HUGE convenience on a lowered car and you don't have to worry about hitting the 3" factory jack area.

Weld ons.
I bought a set of Spohn subframe connectors, and hade Steve Spohn himself weld them on.

He puts a weld every 6 inches on the outside, and in as many places as he could reach for the inside welds. With bolt-ons, they are only bolted in a couple of places, so you don't get the structural rigidity that you have with welded ones.

I took pics of the install while he was doing it if you want to see the process - http://www.havemann.com/lee/images/subframe . These are big images, so if you have a dial-up connection, you may not want to go there.
