My friend has a hurst on his 89 RS, and I really like it. The shift throw is really short. When its in 2nd or 4th gear, the shifter looks like its in neutral!

I have driven a 4th gen with a b&m ripper and I was very impressed, very strong shifter. You can bang the gears all you want with it. I have friends with hurst shifters who aren't happy with them and are switching to the b&m. I recommend the B&M ripper shifter.

I have the Hurst and love it. I've never had a short shift before and I highly recommend getting one of any type as soon as possible. The stock shifter is very crappy compared to short shift. The only thing I don't like about the Hurst is you can't use the stock ball.
