Bolt on Mods

Hi I'm new to the board, have a 92 Formula WS6, 5.7L TPI. I am looking for bolt on mods which will increase rear wheel horsepower. I will be rebuilding the engine within the next 5 years, so am not doing a cam or heads, or anything else like that at this time. My current mods are: 52mm throttle body w/air foil from TPIS, stage 3 custom prom from TPIS, 160* stat, edlebrock shorties jet hot coated, 3" exhaust, flow tech racing afterburner muffler, Richmond 3:73, adjustable fuel pressure regulator from TPIS, and the 700R4 has been tricked out with all heavy duty/kevlar coated clutches etc., and a K&N mounted directly to the throat of the throttle body. I have pretty much convinced myself that a pulley kit is a must. Maybe some other intake work? Maybe even a 2000 RPM stall converter, I don't want go too much over stock. My car is a dailey driver. Can any of you fellow L-98's out there help me a little more? Remember, I am looking for power put to the ground, RWHP. I don't know where I am now, but I would like to dyno over 300 at the wheels, without NOS or a chager, and before the rebuild. Is this goal attainable???

Thanx,
La92WS6

You could buy an actual cold air intake as opposed to the filter mounted directly to the throttle body. The filter there sucks in a lot of hot air and a cold air intake should give you a nice gain. Also you can actually buy a torque converter with a pretty high stall that doesn't affect driveability too much. Vigilante makes a great torque converter that a lot of people on the board are using. Just some ideas. -John

Thanx, I have thought about getting the SLP cold air kit. Maybe some runners. I will keep the Vigilante converter in mind.

Thanx again,

The SLP set up seems to be one of the best out there. Also in the tech articles section of this site there is an article about doing a throttle body coolant bypass and if you use the search button up top you should be able to find plenty of articles about porting your plenum. -John
