Digital gauge panel reviews inside >>
Here it is as promised. Reviews of both the Intellitronix and the Cyberdyne digital dash replacements. Beware, it's a detailed read. It's also off-site, but I tried to meld it in with the Thirdgen site.
Find it <a href="http://www.pcola.gulf.net/~jza/dashreview2.html">here</a>.
Enjoy. If you read it, please leave a post since I have no way to tell if it's being read or not. Otherwise, I'm deleting it from the already clogged server.

So it sounds like the Intellitronix setup is better, even though the instructions suck?
Hmm.
Did you happen to notice if you could read the guages in the sunlight? That is my biggest concern, not being able to read the guages with the t-tops off or something..

Aren't Intellitronix and Cyberdyne the same company. At least that's what the tech I spoke to at Intellitronix told me.

I had the same problem with the Cyberdyne speedo sender that you wrote about in your review.
The way I fixed it was to do away with the coupling unit included with it and I replaced it with a short section (18" long) of Chrysler type speedo cable. It has a matching connector to the cyberdynes sender.
I ran the Chrysler type cable from the transmission to the sender then hooked the stock F body cable to the other side of the sender. It did away with the binding and only cost $12.00 .

Jeremy: Yeah, I like the Intel. dash better. If it had seperate total/trip odometers like the Cyberdyne unit, and had the same outstanding instructions, it would be a grand slam buy. And you can see the gauges, day or night, with or without sunlight shining right on it.
My biggest beef with the Intel. unit was the crap instructions and the flimsy *** function button.
theformula: They're not the same company. I don't know who you talked to there, because I thought the same thing and we had a little argument about it. I was convinced they were the same company. They even used the same part numbers for crying out loud!
And I don't know when you talked to them, because technically, they're not even Intellitronix anymore, even though they'll continue to sell products under that name. They were bought out my Nord-Skog Performance Products back in October or November.

I read the article. I'm glad that someone has put up info about this dash. I think it looks great. You should write a Thirdgen.org tech article descibing the install with pictures. I think that would be an excellent addition to the site.

Thanks. I had the intention of doing that which is why I took so many pictures. But right now I'm working on another project, so that'll have to wait a bit.

Hey, if you're looking for a slick looking digital dash, Mark's has one for people who don't want to modify their car to look like a KITT but are doing some resto work. I think it looks sweet as hell. You'll need to scroll down the page a bit, but here it is:

Re: Digital gauge panel reviews inside >>
I have an Intellitronix 6 unit flat panel dash in my Caprice wagon.
Only issues was having a good factory service manual fro my specific vehicle, to know where to cut into my vehicle harness, and using the water temp sensor that they send you. Trying to short cut things and leaving the old unit in the block will not work.

No video available, but here's a link to a photo when it was first installed. Note that the coolant temp was stuck on 38 degrees no matter what. This was caused by not using the sensor supplied with the kit. My fault.
The entire thread from another forum is about my wagon. Luckily for you, the dash photo is the first picture on the first page.

Although I used the generic horizontal panel, Intellitronix does have a Third Gen Camaro specific dash available seen here.
