Which scanner to get?

Which scanner is the best to get for our cars? I know it must be OBD1, but which has the best features and shows the most data? I am wanting something that will show knock, tps, rpm, temp, BLM, etc, as well as trouble codes if possible. What should I get?

Look into the Auto Xray scanner. I have one and it works pretty good so far.

I was researching the Autoxray EZ 3000 OBD1 scanner. Sounds good but does anyone have one and your pros and cons would be welcomed.

If you already have a laptop PC, then you just need to buy or make your own I/O cable, then serch the web for software(some is free). Check out the ECM tech board for more info.

I have not tried the new one but I
own one of the old ones and after dealing with them over and over on it I will not ever do buisness with them again.
The new one may be a lot better but the whole ordeal has left a bad taste in my mouth. I owned an 86 Z-28 w/TPI and when I hooked up the data I was readingwas way off, eratic , and unreliable. I talk to Mr Miller I think and told me to send it back and have it reprogramed. Sent it in and when I got it back it would not connect to my car. Another call back and was told to use an later model corvette instead. Which worked but some of the data points did not show up. He told me that they were having trouble with the tpi cars and that when they had an fix I could get it programed again.
A year or so later after it
had been put up I tried to use it and some of the buttons wouldnt work(My fault on that one). I took it apart and found a bad connection at the keypad.
Called them up and see if I could order
just the keypad and they tell me no that
I would have to send it in and it would be 45$ if I remeber right just to look at
it. There are other better ones out there. If you do decide to get it at least call them and start asking some questions and see how there customer
service is.
Good luck

i have a datamaster that works extremely well although it's very expensive and because of the obd1 it lacks any altering involvement unlike the autotap obdII versions which is no fun.
