well since u just drive normal i would just buy stock stuff that the local parts store would carry.
i myself like a.c delco plugs (namely the rapidfires)
and accel cap, rotor, and 8.8mm wires.

i dont think going with MSD is overkill. it's better quality than stock so it should last you longer and maybe even give you more MPG's. i also like the universal wires that you can make any length you want. makes the engine bay look a lot cleaner.

this is what i ordered from Jegs:
MSD 25' bulk wire set - #121-34019
MSD 90* plug boots (9 pairs) - #121-3311
8 pairs is all that's needed. but i wanted 2 extra boots. at the bottom of this thread you can see pics of my setup.

I like accel plugs. I have never had a set foul or pre wear.
Matter of fact they seam to last forever.
I like any cap n rotor with the gold/brass parts.
Kem or other wires
accel coil.

I like AC plugs better because there heat ranges are more specific than ACCELs. Personally I haven't had any luck with ACCEL parts but thats just me. I put a set of Taylor wires on my friends 95Z and they lasteed about 2000 miles before they all started arcing out. Now we are going with MSD, we will see how that goes.

I always stayed away from Accel ignition parts, opted instead for FireWires and MSD Super Conductors. Both of these sets had lousy boots that would split and the wires arc'd very easily as well. I had to replace each set after about 3500 miles. I went back on my normal oath and went with the Accel 300 Plus wires and have been happily driving ever since ( up to 6000 miles and going). While I can't vouch for the cap/rotor, I can say the 300+ wires are superb.

I'm running Taylor wires on my GSXR 1340 and am happy with them. My gixxer has run a best of 8.90 at 157 mph, by the way. It is really hard to launch. I wish I had that problem with my IROC, lol!

Just get what ever the local auto parts store sells. But ask for the cap n rotor made with the brass/gold parts.

From what ive heard, as far as plugs go there is no one plug better than the other, I got good old AC's in the 91 (except bosch +4, those suck all together)
for wires the MSD and Accells have lowest resistance, my 91 has accell 8.8's when i got it, any aftermarket coil is better than stock, again the 91 had an MSD when i got it, and any cap and rotor with brass terminals is preffered. As far as ignition amps, everyone has their own favorite. I hear the Accell 300+ box is the easiest install and has the least amount of problems, with MSD the opposite. All of those will give you a hotter spark, and a better-than-stock spark pattern. This will burn more fuel, lower emissions, and make a few extra hp.

A run down:
Bosch...fouled within 800 miles, nothng wrong with the car, just the plugs.
Chumpion....garbage, lasted 5k miles and 2 of them broke trying to remove them.
Motocraft...Ford..need I say more?
NGK...cost more than AC and last the same
Delco Rapid fire...nice plug, not worth the extra $$ though
