Chevy put out two good 327's in the 60's. One 300hp and one 350hp. The 300hp one had the same cam as my 283 in my Chevelle. It only had .390"int and .410"exh lift. The one w/350hp had a slightly larger cam .447"int/exh lift. It also had 11:1 compression. I'm not sure about the compression ratio on the 300hp engine. I think it was either the same or 10:1. Regardless with about 10:1 compression, good carb jetting, and even a mild street cam you should be able to get to the 325-375hp range (at the flywheel). I love the 327ci motor, one of the best ones if you ask me. Let me know how it goes for you because I've been contemplating a mild 327 w/TPI on my 86 IROC. Hope this helps,
Jason
