The 8mm Accel Wires work good. I personally don't like the MSD wires. They are overpriced for what they are. You pay to have that MSD logo on there.

Just remember to look into more of the aftermarket ignition systems than just MSD before you make your decision. The other companies make good stuff also. A lot of it is cheaper also.

A lot of it is also not as durable. I never hear of people having problems with MSD except for older ingniton boxes. You really cannot go wrong with any aftermarket brand. For every good story I hear about Accell wires I hear a horror story. I never hear anything bad about MSD, Mallory, Jacobs, or taylor.

Ditto that one. If you're looking for good wires a little cheaper...I might look into some Taylors. Theyre nice looking wires and they don't cost a fortune either. As far as MSD goes, I've had GREAT luck with my 8.5 Superconductors. After almost a year of running them with high heat exposure (running boot sleeves over them due to my headers), we put them on a multimeter this past week and every single wire read only between 80 and 90 ohms of resistance.

Yeah. Why pay for a simple, discreet logo when, for no extra charge, you can get "Accel" in all of its BIG, BOLD, BRIGHTLY-COLORED, GAWDY, FLAMING glory, lol. You'll wonder if there's even an engine attached to those wires!

I've been really impressed with the products coming from Crane Cams lately. . . especially that distributor where you can change the timing simply by turning those dials.:hail:

I must be the only person who has had bad luck with MSD, I upgraded to all MSD components, 6AL, billet distributor, wires, and coil.

The distributor rusted out and had the original one put back in, the 6AL wouldn't communcate with the cars computer...thus causing hours to days of engine turn over without starting. Now the only MSD part on my car is the coil.

id have to agree with the posts above. if your going to get non msd wires, get the taylors. accel sucks badly. most people have bad luck with them. ive heard all sorts of horror stories about them. taylor or msd, thats my suggestion

your MSD dist rusted?! it wasnt alloy? i got the pro billet alloy one in my ride...

as for the box and the computer, you got me on that one. you see the most gains with the MSD boxes on carbed cars. really no point in using one on a stock FI car

I have no complaints about either product, Accel or MSD. Currently using the 8.8 Accel wires and an Accel distributor, and they scream to 7,000 without a hiccup, and that is without the 6AL hooked up yet.

7000? WOW....whatcha doing up there? Unless it was a "WHOOPS!" moment--I've had my share of those. Or have you got one of those huge-headed super-cammed V8 rev-monsters?
