Got a PCMFORLESS prom
At first I withheld judgement because I could not tell if there was a difference. (replaced chip was a hypertech prom) Didnt even know I had a hypertech until I opened up ECM box.
However, after some extensive driving on street and highway I have decided that I do indeed feel some more power throughout the band, better response on tap from part to full throttle stomp, and much better top end from 4000 - 5000 rpm... not good top end, but much better than stock TPI/prom
All in all - this is a good place to get a chip.

i had seen their site too awhile ago and was curious myself.
you get two options it seems from the page, the piggy back or you can load it yourself if you can burn.
i assume he just filled in the description of his car, but i wonder if i could send in the data logged froma dyno or what have you.
1986 thru 1993 Chip Reprogramming $150 Programming comes on a "Piggy-back" adapter. No need to mail us your stock prom! $20 for reprogramming thereafter
1986 thru 1993 TPI TBI LT1 "Load your self" $50 You must be able to burn your own chips. Add $25 for unlimited updates for new modifications with the email package.

I sent him my cars description because I have a very "stockish" setup. No headers, no intake work, etc.
However - I believe you can send him actual logged data. In the future, I am getting other mods and making some pulls on a wideband dyno - I will be sending him that info.

What sort of things did he do for you with your "stockish" setup? Does he give you a list of items or a list afterwards of what was done? ie. limiter removed, fan turn on?
I've got some bolt ons, exhaust, headers, intake work, etc, and am more interested in correcting any lean/rich problems and or just making sure I'm running in optimal condition. So I'm sure I'd need to give him some data on my car first to get the best bang for my ride.

Basically you elect what you want on the e-form
He didn't send me any info whatsoever, just a chip in an envelope.
I have a slightly higher idle speed, but as far as I can tell the car is not lean (not overheating) or rich (black smoke). He already has an experienced feel for thirdgen proms, so he takes a professional "stab" i suppose. The best bet is data logging before & after, but for some thats just not an option.
One of the options on the e-form is "power programming"
I checked that one (obviously), and told him I have ramair boxes and no cats because those are mods in the immediate future for me. As well as what is in the sig that I thought was relevant.

By the way, their re-burns are very cheap at only $20.

you send their piggy-back adapter back with whatever new mod you've done or whatever new data you've got logged?

I am not sure what more I wanted... perhaps a general description of what to expect. You got me - just seemed hollow, a chip in an envelope.
