I'm just about to purchase an 89 GTA 350. The motor and tranny have been recently rebuilt. Here's the situation. I have about 3 grand to drop into the car and would love to go with a mini ram setup. The problem is that I won't have enough money to make all the necesary mods to make this package work well. So, where do I start? I know that building a motor is like baking a cake, you need the right mixture of ingrediants. I know I have enough for a good set of aluminum heads (ex AFR), a mini ram and a good cam. But this would leave me without a custom burned chip, proper exaust, stall, etc. I don't want to ruin the drivability of the car to much during the in between stages of my build up. Traxion, you seem to be very knowledgeable on this subject, so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Now for my second question. Does anyone know much about going with a super ram setup. I don't hear it mentioned hear to often. I'm basically weighing all my options right now and have basically no knowledge of the super ram what soever. This is my first venture into the world of fuel injection. I have had a 65 Malibu convertable since i was 16. Still have it, I just need a new hobby. Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.

 

The Super Ram is an excellent intake and works well on the L98 especially when it is complimented with the 219 cam. You do need a decent set of heads and in my opinion should be your first investment. You need to pass the Ga. emissions and this cam will make it...start getting a little crazy and you won't. They keep lowering the requirements on the cars here - That's the EPA Police for you.

Thanks for the info. I've been spoiled down here in Ga, because my Malibu doesn't have to go through emissions. 219 cam? Who makes it? Thanks again for the help.
