My first tool set.....
My first tool set.....
If there are any Canadians on this forum, I thought this might be of some interest to you....
Every once and a while, Canadian Tire has these ridiculous sales on some of it's tool sets. I'm talking like 1/2 off or more. I was looking through the Canadian tire flyer that came in yesterday's paper, earlier this afternoon and stumbled upon this. A 50+% off sale, on their top of the line MasterCraft Maximum tool set. It was a 260 piece set which was on sale from the usual $549 cost do just $249 for next couple of days.
I really wasn't planning on buying any new tools just yet but after seeing this deal, I had no choice. It was just too good a deal to pass up.
I also ended up buying a pair of stackable tool chests with ball-bearing droors which open and close smooth as butter. They were on sale too from the usual $100 down to $69 a piece.
All in all, it came to a total $440 for everthing, taxes included. I saved like $420+ dollars !!! (no sale meant I would have to pay in the area of $860)
The tool set come with their own high quality trays custom cut with openings for the specific socket that fit's in them. Very proffessional looking. The sockets themselves as well as every other tool in the set, has the sizes laser etched in them so they're easy to read and look awesome.
What's best, the tray's actually fit in the tool chest PERFECTLY! (I was worried they might not fit and would have to be cut down in size to be made to fit)
All in all, I'm really happy as this is technically my very first tool set. Up untill now, I've been using some old sockets and such I've picked up through the years. They've done the job up until now, but this brings my tool selection up to a whole new level.
So, just to give you guy's a heads-up in case anybody else is interested in picking this set up, the sale ends on the 25th so act quick. $249 is a steal for this kind of quality.
Thing is, I've got a feeling now that I have these, I'm going to want more soon..... I can already see myself building up my collection. Collecting tools is addicting
Mastercraft Maximum baby. High Performance!!
Act fast!
By the way, the images are being hosted by ImageShack so I don't know how long they'll be up.
You can always look at them on my Webshots site. I think it's the last folder...

Man, I wished I lived in Canada......LOL. That looks almost like Craftsman tools like here in America. I like the self etch sockets. Are they really that good of quality? If so looks like you found a great deal. I wouldn't mind a set of those but the shipping weight would be as much as the tools....LOL. I guess now you have no excuse not to put them to work now. So spend some cash on that car now....lol.
Well, I won't be buying anything for my cars for a while after getting this.
I'll be eating a lot of Craft Dinner's for the next 3-4 weeks to make back the money I spent on this stuff
Mastercraft Maximum would best be described as Canada's answer to Snap-On tools. They're the best you can get over here. Snap-On is also avaliable, but the price is outrageous. Snap-On's a great company and make awesome tools don't get me wrong, but in my opinion, it just seems kind of silly to pay like, 5x the cost (or more) just to save 1 ounce of weight on say, a wrench
A friend of mine has some Craftsman set he picked up when he was in the States earlier this summer. They make awesome quality tools aswell.

looks sweet!
I'm not a big snap-on fan, we're constantly snapping their 1/8th apex bits at work. Stupid government tool contract crap. If they were craftsman we could just take a trip to the mail and trade it in. Politics.
