400 Hp 350 cid Motor for under 3 grand

I just saw this on the SPEED CHANNEL, Yearone.com has a crate engine assembly putting out 400 hp for a little under 3 grand...i believe all u need is the carb, water pump, and pulleys and your set!

Go to this page --> http://yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?cat=G

Go down a little bit and click the picture where it says Yearone Power crate engine assemblies and then its the 2nd engine down...

My 305s pushin aabout 155 k miles right now and when it goes im gonna get this.

Does anyone else here have it and if u do how is it?

Re: 400 Hp 350 cid Motor for under 3 grand

All their Crate motors are priced very well....that 502 505hp is only $7700...the 572 710hp is $9990.....when comparing these to other manufatures they are a few thousand cheaper!...

Another idea is to buy the basic shortblock with good internals as a package. Then get whatever parts you want to throw on and it will save some time and money and you can still put together whatever you want.

I agree, However, there are some people (such as myself) who dont yet have the knowledge to build there own.

Secondly with a crate motor there is no guess work, these things are dyno tested and ready to go.

But i would love to build my own monster someday.

Re: 400 Hp 350 cid Motor for under 3 grand

This is the onfo i been looking for, finally a crate in my budget. Of course my engine will stay FI. Ill use the edelbrock base for vortec heads and the runners, but my only question what size injectors should i use as well as the TB (stock 52 or 58)

Re: 400 Hp 350 cid Motor for under 3 grand

I did notice that the engine on year one doesnt give a lot of intel on the engine, like the style of the heads and the cam spec......kinda makes it very hard for sells cept the fact it claims 400HP+

Re: 400 Hp 350 cid Motor for under 3 grand

That aint 400 HP. It uses simple parts. Vortec heads and an LT4 hotcam.

I'll bet its 400 gross HP. 400 Hp without water pump, alternator, open carb and probably headers. I dont think anyone dynos without longtubes on.

Still, its a nice affordable longblock.

Re: 400 Hp 350 cid Motor for under 3 grand

400hp is fairly easily obtainable with vortec heads and a mild cam.

...and yes, stock injectors an throttle body are good for over 400hp.

Re: 400 Hp 350 cid Motor for under 3 grand

Just wondering but if you were given $2999.00 (the same as what this engine cost) how much better of and engine could you build? And would it really b worth it?

Also from what I’ve seen isn’t this pretty much the best bang for ur buck when it comes to 350 crate motors?

Re: 400 Hp 350 cid Motor for under 3 grand

Sorry but Year One = empty wallet. Year one may have a lot of stuff for the f-bodies but as usual all their stuff is way over priced. Granted this motor might be a decent price but it is one of the few things.
