accel digital ignition

anybody running an accel digitial ignition
as opposed to msd 6al or other.
it is cheaper than the msd boxes and has more features.plus comes with matched coil.
comments, good-bad?

I am also seriosly considering using this ignition since it seems to be such a value. (usually means piece of junk from rice land)

I got mine about a year ago. Make sure you get the one for your car, NOT the universal. The car specific one uses factory quality connections and plugs right in. It will take you longer to figure out where to put it than it will to hook it up.

Nice unit and it has the rev limiter right in it. I like it a lot and noticed a difference with it. The motor revs up a little quicker.

Overall, i am very pleased with it.

I've heard that the Accel box is pretty loud. People have told me that you can hear it "ticking" a lot. I'm not too worried about that because I'm sure I won't hear it over the exhaust, but I was wondering if anyone else heard this? Also has anyone had both the Accel and an MSD system? What did you think head to head?

The Accel bos is a little noisy but you really don't hear it unless you listen for it. I had the MSD 6A and switched from that to the Accel box and noticed a difference. Take that how you will.

Is that a good or bad difference that you noticed?

I've had two Accel 300+ systems and they were both pretty loud. Mounted on the firewall it was noticable from inside the car.

Why did I have two Accel boxes? The first one caused a miss at cruising speeds. I called Accel tech and they told me "that happens a lot with the Mustang crowd." They suggested I disable the multi-strike feature. I did and it made everything worse.

So they sent me a new box and it did the same thing. I never figured out why, it was hooked up properly, I triple checked everything. Back to Summit it went. I wish it worked, the car felt real strong at WOT with the Accel box.

Is this the CDI accel systems that come swith the matched coil for under $200? I gotta step up my ignition and was thinking about it, too.
