i was thinking about doing this kit in my 350 when i build it and was just wondering if anyone had done it in their cars or know someone who did. im looking to put out about 400-450hp and tq so it should be well within the limits of this kit. i just need to know if anyone has had any problems or good experiences with eagle cranks, speedpro pistons or any of the other parts. ive heard from 3 people that it is a good kit and well worth the money including a guy who has over 120000 on this kit in his towing truck. i have still not heard anything bad on these parts except from a little know it all rice boy with a 2.0l neon that the doors wont open on. im not dead set on using this kit so dont yell at me. thanks

I used it in my 1990 Corvette along with a set of Hooker LTs. I looked t the dyno sheets and was way off in my original statement. On a great tune, the Vette made 255rwhp/355rwtq, but was done by 5200rpm. Never had an issue with the Eagle stuff...

The kit you posted is for a 355.
But eagle seems to be a decent kit. With the cast cranks, just get a good shop to check it out for quality and balance. Some cast cranks have had some quality issues and cracked in half in some motors, but that may be from a number of things not just bad crank. Poor assembly or balance could do that too.
I ran the eagle forged 383 crank in my motor last year and sprayed it over 600hp. Never had a problem, even turning to 6800 rpm. I ran eagle H beam rods too for safety and they have been known to support 1000hp with good rod bolts

400 blocks are generally weaker than 350 blocks and sometimes have cooling issues. If you can find the 400, thats cool and will work out fine. I'm not sure what the price of a 400 is these days or even how much the rotating stuff is, but cant be too far off a 355-383
Re: eagle 383 stroker kit-anybody used it?
i found a couple 400's that were running and less than 60k on them for under 400 bucks. i would just do a rebuild with some head work, new cam, intake and carb.

I would go 400 as well, in some parts of the country you can still find the core motors relatively cheap. But be careful with your block selection, these blocks are thinner everywhere do to the big bore, you will want to start with a virgin block, that will clean up at .030 over, and make sure you have it magnufluxed by a reputable shop, I had one pass a magnuflux, then after all the machine work and on assembly, it cracked in between the center cylinders, when bolting on the heads, that block was a pretty expensive peice of scrap metal!

ive found several running 400's for less than 500 bucks. may not do a bore so i can rebuild it at a later date unless i have to then i may go .020 or so. planning on 2.02/1.60 valves, a home port/polish job, a performer rpm intake or a weiand stealth, long tube headers and duals, not sure on the cam yet have to do some figuring on that one. and a 800cfm carb in front of a 400 or 200-4r with the rear end from a 2nd gen with 3rd gen brackets on it. any suggestions for upgrades are welcomed

Sounds like you changed your mind.
Anyway.. I run the Eagle Cast steel crank and I-beam rods with SRP flat top forged pistons. It works great and makes about 500HP with a victor JR and 750 carb. I would do as already mentioned and just let a good machine shop look it all over if you decided to go that route.

Good to know...I'll keep eagle in mind when I'm ready to stroke my spare 350.
