mechanical fuel pump to electric fuel pump

I have a 83 Z28 with a L69 package, I recently got rid of the quadrajet carb and the computer stuff. I added a eldelbrock hi-rise with a edelbrock 600 carb. My car came stock with a mechanical fuel pump mounted on the engine block, it recently went out. I want to replace it with an electic fuel pump. My question is.....I have four lines coming out of the fuel tank, one is for the fuel feed, one is for the return, one is for the vapor, and one is for the vent....I know I need the fuel feed and the vent lines, do I need the vapor line since it went to my charcoal canister, and I got rid of it? And also what do I do about the return line since an electric pump doesn't have a return line. Also one more thing where is the best place to mount an electrical fuel pump....Any help would be appreciated, THANKS!!

Re: mechanical fuel pump to electric fuel pump

a holley red pump should work well with a "dead head" regulator. just plug the return line to keep it clean if you ever decide to reuse it. electric pumps like to push so mount it close to the tank.

Re: mechanical fuel pump to electric fuel pump

just buy a holley blue and it comes with a regulator, install it right side up since upside down it'll burn out.

deadhead regulator = returnless style

keep the lines away from heat and exhaust and you'll be fine.
