2 Pc Timing Chain Cover...
Has anybody used a 2 pc timing chain cover?
I was thinking of using one with my latest build because I can't imagine dropping the oilpan again and fighting with that front oilpan gasket to change a Camshaft.
I have 2 Cams and was gonna use the larger XFI 268 in my 383, but if I don't like the feel of it I'll go with my current LPE 211/219.
This is what I had in mind.... or something like it...

Yes, I have had a comp cams 2 pc for years, that summit thing however looks like a cheap stamped POS! If you want to run a roller and a button get something more sturdy (or you have to get a water pump w/ a cover preload stud)

Re: 2 Pc Timing Chain Cover...
Thanks for the quick response...
The Summit item was just an example of what I was talking about...
I shouldn't need the cam button because I have a stock roller block with a camshaft locking plate to hold the Camshaft back in the block...
I figure that a 2 pc timing chain cover would be a "MUST HAVE"....
can't believe that I didn't do this with the last build!!!
Thanks again!!!
