Shift Kit for 92 RS Camaro

I have a 305 mild moded motor, I have heard that getting a shift kit would help the car's performance. I have a 700 R4 automatic transmission. Is getting a shift kit worth it?

The mods I have are Edelbrock carburetor, a torque 2 intake manifold and a performance distributor.

Re: Shift Kit for 92 RS Camaro

best thing you can do for performance is replace the 305 with a real motor......j/k. yea a shift kit wont make your motor any more powerful, but it will make perform a little better. dont go too crazy with the shift kit if its gonna be a street car. a little firmer shift kit will be fine.

Re: Shift Kit for 92 RS Camaro

The shift kit is nice to have and when I bought my car the previous owner said it had a shift kit and Corvette servo and I beleave that to be true because of the nice firm shifts and one two bark, two three cherp I can get with my 305,but what rear end gear ratio do you have now,and do you have a posi. The largest difference I noticed was when I went from a 2.73 and open differential to a 3.42 and a Eaton Posi. Thats were I would start.Gears and posi. is the way to go IMO.
