eletric water pump
eletric water pump
I think im gonna get this
http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...br=76&lastcat=
Its the street version, and im gonna hook it up to a switch that will turn it on around 160* so it turns on a little before the therm opens and the fans kick on, or when the heater is on. And you can buy replacement motors for whenver it goes out. which hopefuly will be a long time. what do u guys think?
only problem is getting the correct serp. belt to fit without a water pump.

I wouldnt do it... The coolant system is the one thing that I would NEVER want it to rely on any type of electric motor.... just too risky, especially for the little amount of gain you would see by using it. Just my thought.

yeah I dont like the sound of it either...................to me Water and Electric just dont mix very well
Don't. I finally took off my Aeromotive Components electric water pump after about three months. I had nothing but problems with it and constantly worried about it sh!tt!ing the bed. It blew the fuse three times leading to a dangerously overheating condition before I noticed and pulled over. Wasted $300 on it - I'm going to return it and have it rebuilt (lifetime warranty IIRC) and then try to sell it on eBay or to a strictly "racer" type. Switched to a $90 Stewart hi-flo water pump that absolutely rocks. I've had zero problems with it and will never go back.
Just my opinion, mind you. If you like I'll give you a good deal on a newly rebuilt AC electric water pump...

Have one on my car and it works great
My biggest issue is that I didn't put it on sooner. When you can get a 14:1 BBC to run on the street @ 180* with a car that has no grille, I would say that the water flow is adequate. The other posts about water and electric not mixing, do you think gasoline and electric is a better combination? I use a Meziere, have had it for three years and will re-use it on a new 632" pro-street motor.

yeah on a street engine i would be too scared to run an electric setup like that. too risky for me.
now if it was one of those actual electric water pumps, it would be a different story. i am a lot more trustworthy in them than the one that you showed.

On a street driven pump gas motor, the best thing would probably be a Stewart Components Stage 1 Water Pump.Reasonably priced and the best pumps I've had.

Leave the electric pumps for hardcore drag cars.
Just my opinion.
