G-tech pro?
G-tech pro?
I have seen this product on TV now a number of times and wanted to know if it was any good or not, accurate 1/4 mile times, etc? Has anyone used the product, if so, what do you think of it, worth the $'s?

A friend of mine has it... the thing ROCKS! Once you set your weight, it knows when you hit 60, when youve hit the quarter mile, and hp... and it is pretty accurate too... I would definatley go for it!

It works... The Vericom is more accurate but costs more.
Both units measure the quarter mile from "first motion"
which differs from dragstrip clocks. (breaking the lightbeam
starts and stops the clock). This will result in a longer time
readout on the units compared to the drag strip clocks.
This difference is called "rollout". It's about +.025 seconds.
I've had the Vericom for many years and it is the best tool in my tool box for tuning my car. So for the price of the G-Tech pro I can't see how you can go wrong.
Second to Nitrous, it's a lot of fun for the bucks.
Some things will throw it off, wheel hop, vibration, entering the wrong info, some ignition boxes (E.M.F.) Bad dips in the road.
Weather it reads an et/mph exactly the same as the dragstrip is
not that important, its the +,- trend that counts. Just like engine
or chassis dynos, no two will read exactly alike but either will
show a loss or gain trend.
So if you test and make tuning changes on the same road you'll see what changes work and what doesn't.
