Hooker LT's

I just got finished talking to Chris from Jet Hot over on the cammaross.com site and he said he can hook us up with the hooker long tubes (2210) for our engines coated inside and out in the sterling finish for $580 to your door. I think I may go this route and many of you may want to also. Does anyone have pictures of these headers? What about experiance putting them in? Thanks for any help and I hope this helps you guys.

Chris's email is JetHotChris@aol.com

I will have to check summit out then. Do you have a picture of these headers? What do you have to modify to get them to work? Starter, oil filter, etc.?
Thanks,

So it looks like these are not equal length headers Do I have to raise the engine to get them in? Do you think they will make a significant differeance over the SLP's ? Thanks for the pics.

I believe the instructions say to raise it a few inches on the pass side

Do they have a port to plug in the o2 sensor? Also, can you get these headers with the air tubes for dual cats?

No bungs for o2, but I think they sell a collector with the bungs installed. No air tubes available with the long tubes

A significant difference is an understatement!! So far I've picked up an average of 4 tenths and 3mph in the 1/4 over my SLP Tri-Y headers. My 60's improved from 1.80 to mid 1.7's. Still got more in it, just waiting to change out my valve springs. As of right now I'm limited on my rpms(5800 = valve float). Long tubes are a beautiful thing.

Y-pPpe to go with Hooker LT

I have a Mufflex Y-pipe that has never been used. 3" collector to 4" on the cat side.

Email me if interested.

The Long tubes aren't bad to put in. I have 'em on my car (I have on LT1 motor in my IROC). The drivers side is cake, nothing need be doing except getting 'em on. On the passenger side i had to slightly file down the engine k-member otherwise the headers slightly rubbed, and that woulda rattled like a biotch! Both sides install from the bottom. On the drivers side you can't use and oil cooler anymore (in stock form that is), and on the pass side you need to remove the starter to get it on.

- Coxy- By the look of your headers, you have the older style of 'em. Hooker now makes the #8 primary tube detachable for really simple instalation. No need to jack the motor or anything.
