yankeecarman -

Did you install your CE SFC's yourself, or have them put in?

I received these SFC's for my birthday, and while reading the directions, they said I might have to cut parts of the floor pan to install????? Did you run into this problem?

I really wanted the Spohn SFC's. Do you like the CE's??

thanks

A friend of mine installed them. Nothing to it. Put them on a drive on lift and bolt them up. Five bolts along the sills and two on the crossmembers and two on the lower control arms. I did however change the metal tube from the sills to the middle member to flat steel to get more ground clearance. No removal of metal at all. I like them because they are really gutsy and do a great job. You would probably have to change the exhaust pipe just a little. The good thing about the way I changed them is that they bolt up really nice. And you can add another bolt to the floor pan the way I did it if you like. I found no need to do it. Works great.

So you obviously have the bolt on's. Mine are weld on's. There are only two holes at the one end of each subframe. Might be different installation directions.

Yes, I do have the bolt-ons. I like them because they are nice and gutsy. You can also weld them on if you like. I find no reason to do that. Then have been on my car for about 18 months. No problems.

I agree also...have the bolt ons....did a minor fab job on the passenger side for better fit. The built in angle section was widened for better fit.

I exchanged the weld in CE SFC's for the bolt on's. After further inspection and fitting, I didnt want to cut up the floor pans like the instructions said.

Can you guys get a pic of what modifications you made to yours? Either that or just explain, so that I can do the same?

Also, do either of you run headers, or aftermarket exhaust with your SFC's? The installation instructions on my C3120s said that "for racecars with headers you need part number C3111". I called tech and they said that I'll be fine as long as the exhaust is in stock location.

either of you have any problems???

I have hooker 2460-1 shorties and no problem with Y pipeetc. Like I mentioned previously; widened the 45 degree slot on passenger side SFC for better fit to body.

He`s talking about competetion PRODUCTS not ENGINERING! and I think He mentioned CAMS....Where did sfc come from?

N8MAN1068: I`ve delt with comp products many times in the past they are one of the best part houses out there...they have thier own cam grinding facialty(howards cams) I personally have never ran one of the cams, but anytime I build an engine....thier first on my list of calls...great prices, friendly, fast shipping, and honest. I wouldn`t hesistate to use any of there products....I really like the look of the CAM CORRECT kit they offer.

Im curious about the CE Bolton SFC's, as with most stuff I touch, things seem to go wrong. So can anyone say that they are as good or equal to weld-in SFC's? and do you notice any sqauking from the bolts as the car shifts/moves. ?

I've bought my share of stuff from CP (they're less than a 1/2 hour from my house ). CP has some great prices and great products. I myself haven't used a howards product yet, but I've heard their cams and connecting rods are right up there with the best in quality and strength.

I just installed the CE Bolt-On SFC's on 2/27. I also put on Spohn's Wonderbar and LCA's. I took pics and will post them soon.

As for their performance ... The car is definately stiffer. Squeaking has almost been eliminated. there is still some stuff that still rattles, but there's nothing that subframes could do to help it. (i don't think) I cannot compare these to weld-on's because I have never tried them.

Overall I am impressed with their performance. I think I need to tighten all the bolts, however, as they've been in the car for about 2 weeks now and hopefully have settled.

Pics to come shortly.
