Ed Miller of Flynbye performance (ebmiller88 on TGO) www.flynbye.com is an excellent vendor!!!

The Flynbye.com website is fantastic... the product Mr. Ed Miller produces is flawless and his one on one support is second to none.

Mr. Ed Miller provided me with one off modified stock 82-92 F-body spindles, one off hub assemblies to except C-5 rotors, one off caliper abutment brackets to except C-5 calipers and one off discontinued PBR caliper backing plates for the Borg Warner 7.75" differential!


The fit and finish is perfection! A vendor that clearly LOVES his work!

As someone who was raised as a fabricator, I sign off on Mr. Ed Millers work!

The rear brakes to have an e-brake, yes. Those are '89-97 style rear PBR discs and will bolt right in to your 3rd gen easily.

I was just trying a different way to reach the guy. He has a good product. I ****ed up and lost a bolt and I want to BUY a replacement from him. And like I said I don't want to call him again until I atleast tried to reach him a different way.

It's almost impossible to get a hold of Ed unfortunately. Even before he stopped posting he was difficult to get in touch with and I was one of his early customers. I don't know about what to do exactly. I think there are some "blank" ordering options on his site where you can put in notes for the order?

Sorry, I don't see any blank options. Just keep trying to call, I believe it is a house number

Just an update if you are thinking of ordering I placed a order in the middle of the night this weekend, 5/7/2017 and I got an email today its been shipped. guess he is doing better about shipping, I read one post it took a guy a month to get his **** with 0 contact.

Disclaimer: I've never tried to contact nor have I done business with flynbye.

Having said that...

On his website under "contact us" he only gives his phone number. I would take that as "call me".

You could also click on his profile and have TGO send him an email. Assuming he has the same email he had at his last activity.

Just a couple of thoughts...

Yeah, I got my tracking number in 24hrs or less. The package didn't actually ship until 14 days later. Just be patient and he'll come through, it just won't be like ordering on Ebay or Amazon.

I'm currently trying to exchange a set of front brake caliper hoses.. after-all his site said "We want you to be completely satisfied with your order so please contact us if something you receive is not right for your application".. BUT there is never an answer and he hasn't attempted to call me back. And that was after waiting 2-3 weeks for the item to arrive. So now I'm a month into these lines for $90 and it looks like the only option I have to is to order a different set from him (bigbrakeupgrade.com is temporarily shut down and the only other source I can find to put Brembo's on a 3rd gen) and hope that he follows through. If not I'll just be out the $90.

I've used Flynbye in the past. I know Ed through regional clubs, etc. etc, and he's a good guy. When I bought my LS1 brakes, he was in contact with me back and forth and it only took a few weeks. Never doubted anything. That being said, I've seen plenty of people that have to wait. ...I'm getting ready to purchase his bolt on drum to disc brackets for another rear I have and we'll see what happens. They're about 80 bucks, so worse case scenario, it's only $80. We'll see. I'll post up what happens.

Interesting. I just ordered LS1 front swap brackets & hubs and Earl's hoses from him last month. The box arrived battered and taped, with only one hub and hose in it. I emailed him with pics, he responded immediately (on a Sunday), and shipped out the replacement parts the next day (which arrived intact). That was maybe 2 weeks ago (perhaps 3).

Says there was a family emergency. It may have just happened, or he may be keeping up with emails has best he can. It's not "shut down" he just asks that you hold off on ordering.

Sorry to hear about BBU. The "family tragedy" message had been posted a month-or-so ago, but then it had been taken down. Now I see it's back up, hence, the "Once again" as the message begins. But seeing as how this thread isn't about BBU, but is about Flynbye...

I dealt with Ed a few years ago, and everything was timely and went well. I'm likely to do business with him again, too. I think his business might be a lot larger now than it was then, and people could be suffering from the growing pains. But like the people who have had good things to say, I, too, am of the belief that he will come through.

Hi Guys,

Scott from BBU... Yes I`m not shut down but I am asking for customers to contact me before placing an order at this point. As you noticed we had a banner up in the beginning of April, my wife was on life support for 8 days there, she remained in the hospital another 6 after that. After being discharged she began complaining of a headache or migraine. After trying some remedies at home she began to complain of her right arm feeling numb. Only 6 days after being discharged we went back with these conditions and they diagnosed as a complex migraine although her breathing was elevated now too. Some medications were given and she appeared to have some relief. The next day she was back to migraine, arm numbness, panting. She went to see her primary doctor who gave her an exam and prescribed a pain pill and muscle relaxer. She was very weak and still had the same symptoms after two doses and roughly 9 hours. She began to loose her speech and fell from her chair that evening. 911 was called and she was showing signs of stroke
After 8 hrs in triage a neurologist and his team had found an abscess on her brain stem that had caused the stroke leaving her right side in paralysis. Further diagnostics revealed she had contracted the abscess from viral meningitis (spinal brain fluid infection), sepsis (blood infection), Bacterial sinusitis. She was transferred to another hospital that could perform the sinus surgery, the base of the infection that created the whole mess. Shes been on life support for 8 days once again.
Daily we go and wait for them to give us news and spend our time with her, she is a fighter and young at 44. Her numbers are looking for the better but a list of debilitating effects will remain long after the infection is beat. It`s a day by day battle and I hope that every day is just a little better than the last for her. I feel so helpless and the questions of what holds for the future are tormenting.

During her first visit to the ICU she had nose bleeds, she was on a oral ventilator so they had to pack the nostril that was bleeding, this is where the infection began, it continued to grow in her cranial sinus cavities until it ruptured one and then began infecting the meninges. Radiology can see the track from her nostril to the abscess. Long term we are hopeful she can regain her motor skills and return to as close to normalcy as possible.. she and I have a long rough road ahead. Please keep her in your thoughts and do not hesitate to email me, I am going to try and keep running the business but it will have to be on a diminished level for the time being.
The site has been updated with a post about this and the banner is down but I have asked that anyone wanting to order email first so I can schedule or balance the work around my commitments

Thank you everybody, your thoughts and prayers are felt warmly. We think she is turning the corner for the better today. Doctors are warning that she will be in the hospital for 1-2 months, possibly longer and then rehab for an unknown amount of time, it could be late this year possibly before she would come home and years of outpatient until she is plateaued. buckle up is the term I heard.

Got my stuff on thursday .had to do a little clean up on the bore center but other than that, shimmed the caliper bracket on both sides and they worked great. Cant wait to get the ones for my 12 inch LS style to bolt to my original 10 bolt.

As for Ed at Flynbye, yes, he is hard to get in touch with and his wife/girlfriend does a terrible job at relaying messages to him. With that said, Id suggest you do as much research on what you need for brake parts and then just place the order on his website. He will ship the parts out I used him about 8 months ago and everything was shipped out.

Thanks, a smile/laugh is welcomed, its been a long 4 weeks, She has made some progress and its clear she will remain with us on this blessed planet. Many months of hospital are still in the future but we are looking at another 4-5 days in ICU and then to a LTAC hospital, then a rehab hospital, and out patient re-hab following that. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, she has made some positive changes in the last 2 days, its really good to see even with all the other disabilities or deficiencies she has. Thanks to you all for the thoughts and prayers, They are working !

Thank you everyone...Another month has passed it looks like, and we have come along way. She is still in the LTAC hospital but will be moving into a nursing rehab home soon. She has regained most of her facial muscles and speech has improved, her trach was removed last week and and I had my first conversation with her vocally in over a month and half...it was a load off I tell you. So she is making good progress considering, she has some muscle control over her right leg (just enough to wiggle it) still no right arm movement, her hearing is getting better and her left eye is better but will always not be able to track all the way right. She is still bed ridden and catheterized but eating solid foods and thin liquids now. Guys alot of strokes are near 100% recoverable, hers was a brain stem stroke which is very difficult to recover from so even though these are small things often taken for granted it`s huge in my and her world. Thanks for everything, prayers and wishes, its apparent alot of my work is generated from here. Most of my current customers have said something when inquiring about parts or an order and it is very much appreciated .thank you.

Praying for you and your wife, I read this and it tears me up. I've had my wife for 18 years that I didn't deserve for the first 13. I finally realized that I've been fortunate enough to be married to the one person that keeps me sane.... finnally realized what a best friend truly is.Just by reading this I can tell you would swap places with yours in a second if you could....I know I would with mine. Stay strong,give it to God as he is the greatest physician. I will put y'all on our prayer list at church if you don't mind. Praying works.

I placed an order through at the Flynbye site for the drum to disk conversation brackets last month. I haven't heard anything back. I tried sending him an email last week and left a voice mail at the number listed on the website. Im now reading others have had similar issues. Is he still in business? Do I need to dispute the charges? I really wanted to have the parts so that I could start my brake job during my vacation at the end of this month but now I'm worried I won't get my brackets.

Scooter do you know if your friend had a good contact email address for Ed?

If I can't get in touch and can't get my parts then Ill see what big brake upgrade has. I was just really looking forward to doing this on my vacation and have already purchased the 4th gen calipers, rotors, pads, etc. So i really don't need a kit, just the brackets

Noncommunication for a week, ok things come up. Or put a disclaimer on your website. But a month? No. Use BBU. I don't know why anyone even uses FLYNBYE anymore. Joke with the noncontact of paying customers. Still people are sending this guy money with all the bad feedback on here. Why?

Probably because no one else offers a lot of the things FLYNBYE offers. I don't see anyone else offering rear disc conversion parts for 89-97 PBR calipers. Yeah, it sucks that his response time is really long, and communication is virtually non-existent, but what are you going to do?

Response time is really long? And communication is non existent? Plus he has your money. Spend the money and by aftermarket. All the time your car is down, you could have worked overtime to save more money to buy aftermarket .It takes a special kind of stupid to keep dealing with someone who runs a business like this. Yet the same posts keep showing up here. " I sent Flynbye money a month ago and he doesnt answer emails or phone calls, what should I do" Should have searched and read that he does business like this. He offers parts on a website he doesnt stock and or is a one man operation. There are some that waited 6 months or more to get parts, yet people still continue to send this guy money, and people still come here and ask the same questions , and have the same complaints. I don't wish bad on anyone, but the evidence on Flynbye is easily searched here. Anyone that sends this guy money and then comes here and gripes you get what you deserve. Hang tight,you have a 12 month window to receive anything you order. In the meantime, the check is cashed, and he doesnt answer emails or phone calls.......Awesome, I would love to just grief myself by ordering from Flynbye.

I dealt with Ed before he really started all the parts offerings that he does now. I was one of his first customers that got a bunch of custom stuff done, and even then his communication was sparse. Ed works a full time job, with lots of overtime as far as I know, I believe he has kids, and I am sure he has a life. His wife works part of the "business" we see. It does suck that the communication isn't there that we would all like to see, but if you don't like it, then don't spend your money there.
He has spent a lot of time and effort to put out stuff for things, and I think some of his offerings aren't for projects he even had. I am pretty sure it all started because he wanted those parts for his second and third gen cars.
IMO we are lucky that someone still offers some of these things, like Drew mentioned, backing plates for the PBR brakes. Some of us don't WANT aftermarket brakes. I am one of those people, I daily drive my car, and I want to be able to go into the parts store and replace stuff, not have to order anything special from a place and have to wait for shipping, and pay 2 to 4 times as much for it.

So thirdgen owners are supposed to be "lucky" that a business takes their money, doesnt communicate and can take months and months on end to deliver parts. Can anyone be so lucky in life to be treated so well? Maybe he was good at first. Not many parts offering for not many vehicles. Not much backlog etc. You say he works a full time job has wife and kids. And? Don't you think people buying from him may be in the exact same position? It doesnt excuse the miscommunication, and long ship times. I'm sorry, you must have really low standards to put up with to be practically begging for your parts after you paid. Search the thread, there are individuals who waited over 6 months to get parts after they paid. You think that's ok? Anyone who knows a machinist or deals with a shop that does CNC work could just fab their own brackets. What do you think FlynBye is doing? He's putting it out there saying you buy this kit and put x brakes on your car no problem. Chase the carrot. 6 months later your pulling out your hair ,no parts.

I actually have high standards, but having actually spoken to Ed I understand his situation. As long as I get my parts I don't really care how long it takes. I am still waiting almost 2 years for something I ordered (from someone else), I know it is still on the way, so I have no problem waiting for something I don't need right away.

If you don't like it, then STFU and move on or make your own stuff, no one is forcing you to buy from him. That is the point of this thread. My friend ordered parts and got them quickly, recently, this year.

Hey guys I don't mean to get everyone worked up about it. It does suck to wait and as Drew said, he is the only one that offers this bracket. I really hope he responds or gets to my order soon. I understand everyone's got family and things come up. I figured as nice as his page is, that this was his main job but I can understand if its a part time thing. I bought all my parts and and this bracket is the last missing piece. Im certainly not bad mouthing him or his business. Just wish communication was a little better. I certainly hope its not 6 months like someone else said Id like to drive my car this year!

Let me give you a lesson is decorum. First you don't know me well enough to even swear at me for one. I'm not an outsider looking in spewing crap. I actually ran into this same problem years ago trying to order from him. Same issue. Paid, couldn't get a call back or email. And it wasn't for one off brackets, it was for goodridge brake lines or something similar , it been years sorry. Something a lot of places stock. I was just trying to support the vendors who you say help this board as you say. I couldn't even do that because after a month I canceled it, through email after contacting my credit card company. So save the BS. There are more than just this thread with the same problem. Because you put him on a pedestal and make him the second coming doesnt discount the fact that this has happened many,many times before. Do a simple search.Glad you have such low standards to order parts and don't care when they show up. I cant comprehend that statement, only the simple fact you are defending him is all the reason why you would say that. You do have low standards and your language and BS statements here show that. Go defend your friend somewhere else. Way to much evidence of this on this board to ignore it.

Kind of seems like there's only one person really crying about the service. Yes, if you bother to look, even a little bit, you know what you're getting into before you place your order. If you need something RIGHT NOW don't depend on FLYNBYE. Whining about it and calling everyone who orders from Ed "a special kind of stupid", and getting butt-hurt when someone says "STFU", takes "a special kind of stupid".

It is what it is, you're not going to change it. Either take your chances, find an alternative, or live without.
