I bought a set of corvette rims off ebay. I should have questioned that the seller didn't have any feedback at all. I will remember that for next time.
The seller didn't send me the rims, he just marked that he shipped them and I escalated the issue so ebay could get my money back. After two weeks and two days, ebay still hasn't done anything yet.
Not to mention that he ripped off two other people after I escalated my problem.
I will go to the bank to see if they can get my money back or go to Paypal. Of course, the rims were covered by ebay protection.
I may take a few months break from ebay if they don't give me an answer I like.

Ok, no tracking number on the set of wheels? Ebay should know better to leave you hanging on someone who has 0 feedback. Just keep up on it and don't assume they'll "just fix things" and you should be fine.

always use a credit card for paypal payments it you use your bank they will leave you hanging, however if you use a credit card they know that if you dispute the transaction with your card company that it's money out of paypals pocket and they will have to get it back from the scammer.
I paid w/ my bank once, I added my bank to pay a guy on this forum who could not accept a credit card on his paypal for some reason. Paypal then automatically uses the bank as the primary payment source, without notification of that of course. The reason is simply... well, I bought a spendy intercooler as my next purchase and paypal refunded me some 36$ of the total of around 1K .. that's how they operate. They send you an email with congrats..we have resolved this issue in your favor.. her's a nickle and a dime. F paypal!!!

Dispute with Paypal too.... It takes time, but if right, you'll get your $$$ back..
I had some punk on ebay advertise 3 Viper remotes (stated all were 2 way)...
Well, only 1 was and the other 2 were not... So I asked for a partial refund (all through Ebay), and I sent back the 2 remotes with tracking info from USPS. A couple weeks later, seller stated he didn't get remotes back and PayPal took my funds... So I had to initiate a search via USPS, and it came back in my favor, and I got my $$$ back...
No tracking #, you'll should be getting your $$$ back...

You will get your money back if there is still money in the account. Paypal will not pay the claim, which is deceptive because they use terms like we have your transaction covered, buyer protection, etc.
If the seller closes account or has no funds in his checking account, you get nothing.

They weren't the magnesium wheels where they? I almost bought a set this guy had up there last week for $900 + shipping. Had new tires too. He had zero feedback plus it almost sounded too good to be true.
PayPal should resolve it for you regardless, but I know how it feels when they hold up your money like that.

seller emptied his account 36 bones was all that was left and since I paid by bank there was no CC to call and get my money back. Expensive mistake! never again. Paypal will do NOTHING for you. Yes, they will lock the sellers account until they pay the full amount.... suure...that's going to teach them! These scammers open a new account and start their BS all over.
PayPal buyer protection is a joke! Those ****ers refunded me less than the transaction cost me in the 1st place if you count their fees and their dramatic currency conversion rate.

Also, some credit card companies have an agreement with Paypal, they won't accept a chargeback on Paypal/Ebay deals that go bad. Discover is one, but I think Mastercard will back you still.

I had the same happen as twin turbo... I won but since the seller had no funds in their account I was S.O.L, I called my credit card company and explained the situation...
They did a charge back (I was lucky that time)
One time I bought a borg warner 3 series carrier and it was stated as "in good working order"
Well I got it and the one of the spider gears was welded to the shaft and snapped off (No help from ebay/paypal)
So I ate that one TWICE, I didn't know you could send them out and have them rebuilt... I put it back on Ebay (showing the damage) and it went for 50 bucks (OUCH X 2)

Call Ebay. I have had excellent results with them taking care of bad ebayers for me.
I may just go to my bank. They have been able to get my money back from businesses that wanted to be unethical or unfair.

I have had ALOT of experience with this.. Some good, some bad (my wife has had ecen more - someone hacked her ebay and paypal account and used it for fraud)...
I wouldnt bother contacting eBay. As far as they are concerned, the transaction on there end is complete!
First file a dispute with PayPal. I probably has changed, but ANYTHING purchased thru PalPay needs tracking to PROVE DELIVERY WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF PAYMENT. If the seller cannot prove this (typically a tracking number to the zip code of the buyer), the buyer will automatically with the dispute. All this means is you will get up to the amount you paid from what is still in their PayPal account. In the example above - only $36 of $1000 was retrieved. PayPal will actively transfer money from the accounts until paid in full. Bu we all know they (fraudulent seller) just abonden the account.
You may also conside contacting CC company if paid by CC. They all have buyer protection built into them. They will just take the money back from PayPal. If you used a Debit card w/ PIN... I donno.. Some banks will help, some will not...
Next contact Law Enforcement. Dont bother calling your local PD, as the crime didn't happen in their jurisdiction. This is an extension of the FBI that specifically covers internet fraud. Contact: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx .
I have had EXECELLENT response from doing this. A great example. Several years ago I purchased a GameCube Game on eBay for $19, $24 with shipping. Paid with PayPal. The seller disappeared from eBay/PayPal. I contacted IC3 after winning the PayPal dispute and not getting my money back. IC3 contacted the sellers local PD and my local PD. My local PD was on the phone with the sellers PD while my local PD was at my house and the sellers local PD was at their house. I had a $19 check in my hands as back payment in 2 days!!!

who buys an item this expensive from a seller with 0 feedback?may be a live and learn thing
They were supposed to be a used set of corvette rims for only $200. It's not a huge amount but way too much to just let go. I like that the police actually were able to help you out with the gamecube fraud.

No, they were the C6 rims that member Grizzlee has posted except they were silver, not chrome. He also labeled them as C5 rims which was suspicious too. I hate those style rims, I even like the C4 sawblade style rims better than those. Originally Posted by Fueled

Ebay finally refunded me the money which is good. It only took 6 weeks! I'm never buying from someone with 0 feedback again.

I see you haven't said whether or not the case was resolve d but its really simple just open a case with ebay and since the guy cannot provide proof of shipment you will get your money back.
I know because i'm an ebay powerseller
But hurry you only have 60 days from the sale date

yea i opened a case with ebay against a seller who had sold me a supposedly working pioneer deck that didnt work at all. It would turn on but the screen would not light up because the whole unit was too worn out (cable to the back was worn). At any rate i opened a case and won! Ebay sent me a prepaid shipping label to ship it back to the seller and they tracked it. Once it was back at the sellers house ebay refunded me the money. It was the first time i needed to use that system. The last time i did something similar was a paypal dispute about 4 years ago over 20 bucks. I guess im lucky in that regard.

I would say that is not the same guy. The one he is talking about had zero feedback. The seller who is selling those wheels you mentioned has 40,734 with a 99.6% of that being positive feedback. I would say you are pretty safe to order from that seller.Originally Posted by mac86

No, that is a company that sells rims and also wants to sell them on ebay. You forgot to do a Originally Posted by mac86

Many times, a company that sells on ebay uses their company name as their profile name to be transparent and for easy brand recognition. The profile name also looks like a company name instead of some random word(s) that an individual uses.
I would buy those rims if I were you because that is a good price.
