Superram plenum (searched**no luck)
Hey guys! My buddy just bought a superram plenum and runners off of eBay. He hasnt gotten them yet but he bragged to me about it. I looked at the auction and the pic seems to show a LT1 style plenum> the smaller one with the dropped throttle body mount. Should I tell him or will it still fit the L98?

OK... maybe I should say, will the smaller superram plenum for the LT1 fit on a L98 or are there clearance issues with the dropped TB mounting pad?

Your buddy's going to be disappointed when he tries to install the LT1 plenum on an L98. The plenum's dropped TB mount will hit on the thermostat housing and when he tries to install the throttle body, he'll be even more upset.

Thats what I thought too by looking at it. Oh well, I'll just have to break it to him.

I wonder how bad it will actually be. There are a lot of different t-stat housing out there to choose from. Might be able to find something that works, or modify one wiht some creative welding

Well, his engine is at our shop, so I'll be there during the test fitting. If worse comes to pass, we'll just have to make a sheetmetal "pizza box" for it.

Lots of options.

Hey guys! My buddy got his 2" plenum yesterday. Has anyone ever seen a superram plenum with the throttle body mount blocked off with a plate and a lid with a round hole, 3 bolt holes and a clearance valley...... I get some pics later today...
I found a pic on the net of this lid with a 1996 Chevy truck throttle body. The clearance "valley" is for the throttle and tranny cables..... Did Accel or Lingenfelter ever make a truck canversion for the superram?

Check out this thermostat housing. It is off of a Pre-79 chevy truck. Fits pretty good under the dropped throttle body mounting pad. The radiator hose will have go across the valve cover and behind the supercharger....
