i need a close picture of the LT1 intake, from the rear.. that has the modified cut out part of the EGR boss showing.. you know the part that would normally hit the distributer?

i looked on LT1intake.com but i cant see what i need to.. im trying to cut the boss for the clearance on the distributer but i dont want to cut too deep and i dont have a spare distributer to use at the moment..

anyone have a picture they can post?

also what are you guys using for the distributer hold down? it looks like some type of spring next to the bolt, what exactly is that?

I "hacked that thing". It's the first step in total egr casting removal to run a large cap distributor which is what I thought you were looking for.

You'll find lots of pictures on intakes at my site. Click on each "color" to see a variaty of angle shots. Not all colors have the exact same angles so you may have to lokm at all of them to see what you're looking for. Here's the link.

yep.. those pics did help.. thats what i needed...

oh hey, i got the EGR adapter finally finished. i used 1/2 plumers brass 90* elbow's.. 1/2 coppers pipe.. 16 gauge 1/8 steel plate to be able to bolt the EGR and JB weld the brass fittings.. looks good.. needs paint though

as soon as i find our Digi cam i'll snap some pics.. only cost me 8$ for parts @ home depot

now i just have to run the other metal hose to the header, drill the primary and weld int he bung..

oh and John, you have a PM

Some people (Corvette group) have all large cap distributors. Some have high dollar units they don't want to part with or spend the time converting to a remote coil setup.

Some also say the large cap is better then the small cap at high rpm's since there's less spark scatter because the spacing is wider inside the cap.

I prefer to stay with a small cap with a LT1 intake conversion becasue of the amount of work to convert the intake. It's easier to swap to a small cap distributor.

Pictures would help alot. How did you get external exhaust to the intake manifold?

to get the exhaust over to the manifold.. you have to use the LT1 crossover tube.. BUT you have to modify it so it wont interfere with the hold down bolt.. i put a another 90* bend in it, upwards then it will go over the valve covers..

I also put the coolant fitings in the front.. just for more room

trust me.. i'll post them.. soon as i can find the damn digi cam.. last i saw it, it was in the wifes car.. now its not there.. its pissing me off..

the EGR cross over tube to the header is not completed because i would have to pull the header, drill and weld the fiting in.
