Help me pick a new induction system for a 383

Ok you guys,
I need some input from you guys! Ok I am now starting to consider the new induction system for my 383. Right now I am looking at the mini ram, but I have heard some stories about there castings and I also heard about the Holley stealth ram. Are there any other options to choose from? And would would be the best for my application? One thing that I do know is that I want to keep it fuel injected and that the gaskets that fits my heads are Fel-Pro 1206. I do not know if I can get the holley stealth ram, can that fit a Fel-Pro 1206. These are the parts that I have on my car.

Ok here is the list.

383 Fully Balanced rotating assembly from Eagle specialty products
stroke 3.75 x bore 4.060
6” rods (non cap screw)

Cam:
comp cams camshaft (08-305-8) Specs:
Advertised duration: 276 in / 290 ex
Duration @ .05: 220 in / 230 ex
Lift: .510 in / .510ex

Heads – Pro Topline Pro lightning heads with 74 cc chambers
200 cc intake runners that have been polished
2.02 Manley intake valves
1.60 Manley exhaust valves
Comp cams springs retainers all the good stuff
Set pressure 130#; open pressure @ .50 lift 350#
Complete 1:6 Roller rockers
Heads were put together at a performance shot in my home town

Headers- SLP 1 ¾” coated

Ignition – Stock but will up grade shortly

Torque Converter – I have hard many things about going to a high stall, I heard it will kill my gas mileage a lot. If I do get a new stall I want to keep it fairly low

Trans – 700-r4 with shift kit

Rear end 4:11

Computer - its stock, when I bought the car it already had a chip. I am planning on getting the chip reprogrammed or I will get a new chip if it is not reprogrammable. I would like to wait till my car is running and take it to the dyno and have it tuned by people that know what they are doing

That is all that I can think of right now. So if you guys can give me some input about different induction systems I would really appreciate it. Thanks again for your help!

Ok well this sounds like something ive posted on recently so im going to just copy it here. Looks like your combo is similar to this one here.

Super Rod did a decent TPI shootout in their Feb. issue. It has:

Stock TPI (410hp, 500lb-ft)
Edelbrock High-Flo (431hp, 501lb-ft)
Extrude Hone base & LTR (451hp, 534lb-ft)
TPIS Big Mouth System (460hp, 534lb-ft)
ASM Siamesed Runners (464hp, 510lb-ft)
SLP T-Ram (466hp, 495lb-ft)
Accel SR (480hp, 506lb-ft)
Holley single plane (493hp, 480lb-ft)
HSR (501hp, 493lb-ft)
MR (505hp, 471lb-ft)

The engine was a 10:1 383 with Trick Flow heads and the Comp XR288HR (236/242, .520/.540)

The article is mssing a few things that I would have liked to have seen. They used different size TB's for a number of the tests and the cam is better suited for the short runner stuff. All of the combos made decent power though. I would have liked to have seen a RPM Air Gap and properly sized carb tested as well.

AFAIC, the HSR is the winner as far as numbers:$. And i'm a SR guy, lol.

If you want the RPMs and graphs you'll have to buy the mag.

Thanks a million for all your advice! I need to buy that mag. Well I have one more question for you, do you know if any of those besides the MR that can use fel-pro 1206 gaskets? Thanks again for all your help!

the HSR is the best aftermarket intake when all factors are considered. its the cheapest and gives almost the best power and is extremly simple compared to say the superram. if you can get away with no egr and have the hood clearance id defenitly go HSR.

and you need to let your intake choose your gaskets not your gaskets choose your intake

As said above, if you go with a big cam for top end high RPM Hp, then run the HSR. However, there is the EGR business (lack of it on the HSR) which prevents some peolple from installing it.

If you are after best torque and street light to light killer performance run the SR, it has EGR provisions. Also here make sure you buy a large intake manifold for the SR.

As above, the HSR wins hands down for $s.
