I never had a problem with the t-stat housing or tps sensor clearance, not too sure on that question, so I can't help you. Clearancing the bracket is easy as the aluminum is soft, I used a dremel when I put on my LT1 intake. Just cover everything and have a vacuum cleaner with an attachment to get up the shavings that will go everywhere.

For the bottom runner bolts, use either a 1/4 inch boxed-end wrench. I bought a wratcheting 1/4 wrench and could only get 2 bolts with it, the injectors get in the way.

You will have to feel your way through tightening the bolts. Just take your time and don't get frustrated. Take breaks to let your hands and arms rest and relax. Some of the bolts you will only get a very small range of turning motion on, and you just have to be patient with them.

I can get one off in about 30 minutes now. When I first put it on, it took me maybe 3 hours to figure out how to get to all the bolts, what tools to use to get to each bolt and how to position my hands and fingers to tighten them. You don't need to slot the bolts from the top, but it helps. I never did.

Has anyone just "missed" not putting the bolt in beside the passenger injector?
There is a pretty thick gasket and maybe it wouldn't leak.

Any thoughts?

Here's what you will have to do to the belt tensioner.

Once you put your intake tube on, you wouldn't even notice the "cut-out" portion.

I just purchased the superram myself and posted about the bolt issue and here is the best way to solve it.

My TPS was a couple inches away and the T stat fit perfectly. I would like to see some pics of yours.

The only problem I ran into was getting the plenum to runner bolts in. I had to purchase the smallest ratcheting wrench I've ever seen to get those on. I never had a problem with the TPS sensor or the Thermostat housing.

The interference between the TPS and the tensioner is news to me too. Isn't that a photo of a coverted LT1 intake install not a SuperRam? The Superram plenum should be way taller than that.

Oops, I overlooked the 74196-F in your first post. You have the LT1 version of the SuperRam that was designed with a reduced plenum height so as to clear the lower hoodline on the 4th Gen cars. That explains some of your problems.

Quote: Hello, all

I finally have the car running I would like to know , does the SR intake require a dedicated Throttle and TV cable, mine is adjusted correctly but is has a touch of "play" in it, I am a very fussy person and i would like to have the petal feel like stock, if any one can provide some direction that would be great , thanks ......GTA
No the stock cables work great. you need to use the superram bracket for the tv and throttle cables though. They stock bracket puts the tv cable at a slight bind. you can use stocker but its a little tight under the plenum.

I did have to put a spacer in my gas pedal to allow the 58mm tb to open all the way.

I think all your problems like someone else mentioned. Is that you have the wrong SuperRam the one you have is for the 4gen f-body. Its has a smaller plenum to fit under the cowl of the 4gen cars.

That is it, you have the plenum for the fourth gen!! They tried to give me one when I purchased mine from LPE, I sent it back because you want the extra plenum volume! I think they are trying to get rid of all of the fourth gen plenums because nobody with a fourth gen wants a Super Ram. SEND IT BACK
