I'm not sure, but you may just need to run the 1284. Someone who's done it could tell you for certain

i had material added to the intake around the coolant passages for the 1205's, but i was using sportsman 2 heads and that is what has to be done for the intake to work with them.

what heads are you using?

Looks like he is doing an LT-1 not an LT1.

I was saying that the LT-1 is the 70-73 solid lifter 350 used in the Corvette and Z/28, and the LT1/LT4 (the engines that the 1284 gaskets are designed for) are Generation II reverse-cooled engines, the LT1 being used from 1992-1997 and the LT4 1996-1997.

i have not seen anyone having problems covering the coolant ports on stock heads, but have seen people that had to add material around the egr ports on the stock cast heads. you should be able to find the right gasket to fit without a problem. if not, i was only charged like 50 bucks to have a 1/4" added around all 4 coolant ports on my intake (this is necessary on the dart pro heads and sportsman 2 heads due to the coolant ports being located higher on the head than a factory style.), so even if you do need to add material around the intake it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. you might look at the 88-91 corvette aluminum heads, you can pick them up for under 650 usually and they work good with the lt1 intake conversion. there are a few of the lt1 converters that went this route with relatively no problems.

another route would be to use lt1 heads and intake together, then you just need to modify the heads a little and drill the distributor hole in the back.

lots of options, but you will need to decide how much money you want to spend and what kind of performance you want to achieve.

Is it an '96 LT1 or '96 LT4 ? I know the LT4 ports are taller.

tpi_roc (the original, not the new guy) had to add material to his LT1 intake when he did his intake swap a few years back with world heads. That was a decent 105-106mph combo. His second setup was lt1 intake + lt1 heads.

Im toying with th eidea of building a 500hp LT1/LT4 when I sell my turdgen.

You are not going to use the 1284 LT1 intake gasket for your '96 LT1 intake to '89 SBC heads. Also as you found out the felpro 1205 doesn't work either. It's too big.

The simplest and cheapest answer is just grab an intake gasket from your local parts store. Ask for a '72 or '73 Camaro 350 intake gasket, it doesn't have egr and fits nice.

If you want felpro use the 1204.

but in the kit 1205 there is the 2 big gasket for the ports..and there is 2 little one for front and rear...should i remplace them for hi temp silicone they seems to high too....but the 1205 should fit or not??? because i made this intake my self....to give me an idea if my job is wrong or the gasket is wrong.

by the way for pepole that are not sure to try by them self to do in home DONT!!!!! its pain in the *** for the head angle eaven for 1987 heads!!!

the only reason i used 1205's was because both the intake and my sportsman 2 heads were port matched to the 1205. u may want to take your intake to the zone and hold a set of 1204's to it to see if the gasket is too small to work or just right.

through the cork end rail gaskets away, they cause more leaks then they solve. just use ultra black or ultra clear rtv to seal them up. put enough so it uzes out just barely when the intake sits down, but not so much as to clog the oil Vally drain holes from all the excess.
