K&N OIL FILTER?

Hey, i just bought an '88 GTA and its got a K&N filter in it. I took the filter out and it says on it that it needs to be oiled before use. It has oil on it and is pretty dark, im guessing because of the oil. But are oiled filters better than non-oiled filters? whats the difference?

Some people say yes, some say no. Some say the oil gets into your combustion chamber, some say the air flows better. Personally it really doesnt matter to me. But you need to clean that black filter... thats as good as crap.

Get a K&N filter recharge kit, costs about $30 and it has the instructions with the kit. Don't be fooled that you will have to soak that thing in water (yes it is no typo). But in the end it should be a nice light red and light goes through it easy.

The cleaning kits are $10 at Autozone.

i`ve heard from a few people that the oil can screw-up the `Mass Air Flow Sensor`.( makes sense )....i always stick with a clean stock air filter !
