Any nice and short 90 elbows out there?

I have an Accel pro-ram that I need to get going here and I plan on running an elbow and F*rd style TB. I need to either find a short elbow or start cutting things down to clear the hood. A different hood for clearance is absolutely not an option. I've considered making my own but I'd rather try to find something already made and maybe slightly modify it and/or the manifold if necessary. Seems like the elbows I've seen so far are fairly tall and so is the intake mounting flange... running out of space real quick here. Post up whatever you've seen (maybe I havent seen it yet) and hopefully something will work here...

Try the Dynomax web sight. They have a variety of different pipe sizes, bend etc. My CAI is made from 4" exhaust pipe welded together.

Kenwood had a nice one done up to use the ford TB, I think when I checked the price it was like $135 or something for the elbow. might want to look at some of the singleplane threads from a year or two ago. Then you just need the IAC adapter.

You can check this company out. I had an intake converted, and I would recommend them.

you could always build a plenum box that mounts on the carb flange. The inlet doesn't have to be a smooth intake elbow, I don't think. This way, you could build it sort of like a drop-base air cleaner, where the inlet pinches down to allow the throttle body to sit low. If its wide enough and the plenum was big enough, I doubt this would create a restriction/airflow problem. I beleive the trick to it is to make the plenum dimensions larger than the opening, so that air draws from all directions, rather than just the direction of the throttle.

I dunno, its worth thinking about, I suppose. Is this going to be N/A?

Initially it will be NA, but there's the possibility that will change later.

That intakelelbows one looks like its about as short as it can get. Might be my option, but I'll bug Kenwood again... I forget what he went with. I think Wilson.

Tried a search and seemed to come up empty, I'll try some older posts and see what I get. I know I remember seeing something at some time. Thanks guys.

If you are willing to stay with a TPI style throttlebody Accel has this PN74882, though i don't know the dimensions. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I might just do that. I had thought Accel stopped making that, glad its still around.

Heh... on second glance, I'm noticing it says "New". New old, old new... whatever.

Its shown on Scoggin-Dickey, Jegs, and numerous other sites.

Jegs says backorder but they are getting some in this weekend according to their puter. I'd say its available.

I was going by what the guy at Accel said. I think I like the Intake Elbow better though.

They did stop it a while back. I was looking into it, and it was no longer avaliable. Then one day, they had a pic of it on their website.

The accel unit is a bit pricey though. I think they sell for $280.00. But then again, so is the Intake Elbows piece. The Intake Elbows is lighter, and better looking, IMO.

I recommend Aaron also. He made my intake elbow. In fact, the 105mm, 110 degree, dominator base one shown on his site is the one I had him make for me. Excellent craftsmanship.

That accel piece will fit 4150 holley flange on any intake, can be port matched, think of it being ported and a 1300cfm monoblade on that bad boy!!
