Righ now i have a 383 with vortec heads and a ZZ4 cam with the SDPC vortec TPI manifold, Stock runners and stock plennum with stock throttle body and am running a paxton ball drive supercharger. My power peeks at a mere 4400 RPM. What I am trying to figure out is how much more RPM's will i get out of a superram with a 58mm throttle body and if it would be worth the expense? I know from searching their are a lot of you guys out their running the superram so what peek RPM's are you seeing? All input greatly appreciated.

I have no problem running my SR to 6200RPM. My cam peaks at about 5400 so I don't need to go any higher than that. My SR is lightly ported, but the lower intake is stock SR as received (not ported).

That's what i was hoping to hear. Peaking at a mere 4400 is a big time bummer. Seems i'm loosing a lot of potential power. What type of power gains do you think i would see with this upgrade. I'm at 330 HP and 412 FTLB at the wheels right now? Which throttle body would be better to go with a 52 or 58mm?

No guesses from me - I have a bad track record guessing power levels on changes

I'm using a 58mm BBK, but to be honest, I think I was better off with the 52mm I used to have. I've been comtemplating going back to a 52mm.

Thanks for the input it has helped to put my fears of wasting 1000 bucks to rest. I was kind of thinking that a 58mm was a little on the large side so I've decided to go with the 52mm. Don't suppose that you know of anyone who wants to get rid of a superram. Picking up a used one would definitely save me some cash. Thanks again.

Depends on your time frame. I'm actually going to be installing an LT-1 conversion in the next few weeks. May not happen until late next month though. Got the intake and new AFR heads in the garage, but holding off in case I have to drive the 'Bird to Indiana in early November. Don't want to take that trip so soon after some some major mods.

I'm in no major hurry either, so if you would keep me in mind when you do I would greatly appreciate it. Or on the other hand if you would like to work something out now i'd be willing.

I need to see how the LT1 works before I commit to selling my SR. Hopefully you'll understand that.....

I've got a SR and I've rapped it out over 6200rpm before.
It really awakens the motor.
My SR is ported and so is my Edelbrock big-mouth manifold.
I've been thinking about selling it and trying something new like a HSR or an LT1 intake.

Yah i've been weighing my options. AS&M runners $450 plus a ported upper and lower with a 58mm throttle body or a HSR which would be around $550-600. SR is just to expensive for what you get IMO. The problem I have is that I live in california with very strict smog laws and would really hate to have to switch manifolds back and forth every two years just for smog. Thats one reason why I havn't done it yet. I know that i'm losing a good 60-80 horsepower whith just the stock TPI and would really like to remedy that situation real soon. One thing that keeps me away from the SR is that it is a real payne to install from what i understand and is prone to vacuum leaks. Just need to make up my mind and do it. I've been searching on ebay and through the threads hoping to find a steal but no such luck yet.

They are a pain to work with and around, but the perofrmance can't be argued with either when compared to the LTR setups, either.

I looked up some data, the 52mm TB will flow 899 cfm, which should be enough air to make 690 Hp at the crank,,, NA of course. FWIW, I'm running a 52mm TB with a well ported SR, & Accel base, and just run a 12.12 sec 1/4 mile.
