What spark plug wires are u guys running with HSR? I have hooker headers to put on and wondering what would be the best for that combo

 

Anyone?? It is hard to find the right wires for my car because it is the odd year. Long water pump and v-belt set up with remote coil.

 

I'm running MSD, I think they are 8.8mm or something close. A little over $100 if I remember.

I've run a lot of different things over the years. With the hooker long tubes i'm using the little slip on heat shields. It helps a little I think. I used to run Accel 9000+ header wires, but after a few months I started to get misses.

I'm running the same Taylor 8mm wires I've had for 8 years, with the stock TPI, SLP runners, and HSR. The wires are held in place by the Made For You valve cover looms and are still in great shape and ohm'd out good last year. I have the Hooker 2055 shorty headers, but I cut off the air tubes. The wires and looms worked well with the air tubes on the headers too.

 

You got a part # for those taylor wires? I was thinking MSD too, but they were about $100 also. Those looms look awesome too!

 

I run MSD super conductor 8.8's.
They are ok I guessd.
With headers you will want 90* ends (not the adjustable ones)
Get the set with one end installed and fit in your looms or clamps then mark them to put the other end on.
The prefab sets will not be as nice IMO.
I use Taylor screw together clamp sets for 10mm wires, the 8mm max ones (or might have been 9mm) do not allow enough screww to get the clamp to start. Had to send them back to get bigger ones.

 

Either the MSDs or the Taylors are the way to go. I bought the type that you cut to length on one end so that you can "taylor" make the length and run the wires either above the valve covers or below the headers.

 

I got them from Thunder Racing. They are part number 04-73051 and are $54. It's a universal kit that are cut-to-length with 90-degree boots. The Made-For-You looms are part number 116-50-356 for $50. Both the wires and the looms are available in multiple colors. Gee, that sounds like a sales pitch.
